The couple, who have been married since 2012, have two children: Silas, 8, and Phineas, 2.
Although both Biel and Timberlake are Hollywood stars, they prefer to keep their sons out of the limelight. The singer once spoke on Dax Shepard’s show about what it’s like to raise children as a celebrity Armchair expert podcast, saying, “I try to be aware that we can live a life where we’re not weirdly private.”
He continued: “But we are aware that they can be children for as long as possible and not have the weight of being treated differently by someone else because of something their parents do.”
On Father’s Day 2022, Biel shared a rare family photo on Instagram and praised her husband’s parenting skills. “To the world, you’re a dad. But to your family, you’re the world. I don’t know who said it, but whoever it was, they did it with… We love you baby. Thank you for being our everything” , she wrote.
A few months later, the actress also revealed the best parenting advice she ever received The Drew Barrymore Show. “One of the best parenting tips I ever got was ‘you can’t do both at the same time,'” she said. “When you’re wrestling on the floor, you’re wrestling on the floor, don’t answer your phone, don’t look at work, don’t text someone, you’re wrestling on the floor.”
In May 2023, Timberlake wrote a sweet post about Biel in honor of Mother’s Day.
“This man here 🙏🏻 Mom, partner, brilliant, beautiful, badass… You’re always there for me and these boys no matter the time of day or night. I’m in awe of you and I’m beyond grateful that you’re ours. We love you, Mom!” he wrote alongside several photos of his wife.

Timberlake and Biel’s first child, Silas Randall Timberlake, was born on April 8, 2015. The couple has been tight-lipped about their baby’s arrival, with reps only confirming to PEOPLE that Biel and Silas are doing well and that Timberlake was “ecstatic.” Silas was named after Timberlake’s maternal grandfather, Bill Silas Bomar. He also shares the same middle name, Randall, as his father.
When Silas was 6 months old, Biel spoke openly about motherhood at Today show, saying, “It’s an amazing, amazing experience. It’s incredibly difficult — the hardest job in the world, and I’ve never been more thankful and grateful for my own mother.” She also called her child “miraculous” and “wonderful.”
Over the years, Silas has occasionally appeared on his parents’ social media accounts. In 2017, the “Suit and Tie” singer shared a rare video with his son after Thanksgiving. The video showed Timberlake doing push-ups with Silas on his back with the caption, “He shook off those leftovers like… Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! 🎥..”
The following year, the “Mirrors” singer shared a sweet photo of Biel and Silas in Paris, writing, “If that pic doesn’t say ‘City of Love,’ then I’m out…”
Biel also took to Instagram to celebrate Silas’ 5th birthday in 2020. She shared a photo of herself holding him over her shoulder with the caption: “This little man turns 5 today! We’re at home, covered in legos and birthday cake now.. . but I just found this picture on my phone from last summer and it made me so happy.”
And although Timberlake has several Grammys, Silas doesn’t seem bothered by his father’s success. Speaking to Jimmy Fallon in 2021, Biel said of her then-6-year-old, “Whenever he hears his dad’s song, he’ll be like, ‘Oh yeah, that’s dad. No big deal, whatever.’ ”
The Candy the actress even admitted that she can’t get Silas to watch her children’s series, Pete the cat. “I tried to get him to watch the series, he won’t,” she revealed. “And yet he’s like, ‘Hey mom, hey mom, sing one of those show voices,’ and I’m like, ‘But you’ve never seen a show you don’t even know.’ He just says ‘just do it mum’, so I’ll do one of the voices and he’ll say ‘cool mum, cool’.”

Phineas Timberlake, Biel and Timberlake’s second child, was born in the summer of 2020. However, it wasn’t until January 2021 that he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Timberlake spoke about his baby for the first time.
“He’s awesome and so sweet. Nobody sleeps,” Timberlake said. “But we’re thrilled. We’re thrilled and couldn’t be happier. We’re very grateful.” When Timberlake was asked how Silas is doing as a big brother, he replied, “He’s loving it right now. Phin can’t walk or chase him yet. So we’ll see what happens.”
A few months later, Biel admitted that she secretly gave birth to a child with Dax Shepard Armchair expert podcast, saying, “I had, like, a secret baby with COVID. It wasn’t supposed to be a secret. It was, it just happened to be COVID, and then I went to Montana with my family and I never left.”
She also revealed that Phineas was born during the summer of 2020 and that she wasn’t sure if Timberlake would be allowed in the hospital for the birth due to the restrictions related to COVID-19. I was getting really nervous about that situation, she said. “But yes, he was allowed. I think she would have to be alone there, that would be horrible. I would be really scared.”
Sinner the star also talked about how much harder it is to have two children compared to one. “Someone told me, ‘Two is like having a thousand,’ and that’s exactly how it feels,” she said. “The balance of everything is very different and super difficult.”
When asked about the idea of her children going into show business during the same interview, Biel was not thrilled with the idea. “My knee-jerk reaction is, ‘Oh, God, no. Please, no.’ But then, I look at those kids and think, ‘Oh (expletive), they’re probably going to be musical.’ What are we going to do? Like, not let them play piano? Or not let them take voice lessons if that’s their passion?”
She continued, “I don’t want to be a sleep-deprived parent, but, man, if my kid just said, ‘Let’s go learn about corn in Iowa,’ (I’d say), ‘Great .’ I’d rather they were engineers or something.”
