Justin Timberlake lost his New York City driving privileges at the latest hearing related to his June DWI arrest.
The singer, 43, appeared in court literally from Antwerp, Belgium on Friday, August 2, pleading not guilty to a revised misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated, PEOPLE confirms.
Timberlake, wearing a black collared shirt, listened intently to Sag Harbor Village Judge Carl Irace, who answered “yes” twice to the questions he was asked. Irace suspended the singer’s driving privileges in New York state, although the length of the revocation is unclear. After the hearing, Timberlake’s lawyer Edward Burke Jr. he told reporters that the suspension is “standard for any DUI.”
During the proceedings, Burke also withdrew his motion – which he made last week – to have the case dismissed. Irace also expressed displeasure with Burke’s statement to reporters after the July 26 hearing, urging him to “be more careful when making comments” and warning Burke that his words “come as an attempt to poison the case before it even starts.” Irace threatened to enforce a gag order or demand that Timberlake appear in person, forcing a return from Europe and his Forget Tomorrow world tour, if the comments continued.
The next hearing is scheduled for Aug. 9, followed by a tentative trial date of Sept. 13, depending on what happens at next Friday’s hearing.

Justin Timberlake’s lawyer says the singer was ‘not drunk’ when he was arrested on new DWI charges
During Timberlake’s final hearing on Friday, July 26, Burke argued that the “Mirrors” creator “wasn’t drunk” when he was arrested June 18 in Sag Harbor, NY, on a DUI charge.
“I’ll say that again. Justin Timberlake was not drunk. And we’re very confident that that charge — that criminal charge — will be dismissed,” he added, according to WABC.
Burke then expanded on his remarks in a post-hearing statement he shared with PEOPLE. “The most important fact to know about this case is that Justin was not intoxicated and should not have been arrested for DWI,” he said at the time. “The police made a number of very significant mistakes in this case. You heard in court today that the district attorney is trying to fix one of those mistakes. But that’s just one, and there are many. Sometimes the police make mistakes, and this is just one of those examples. .”

Burke added: “Justin respects the police and the very important work they do. He has cooperated with the officers throughout and treated them with the respect they deserve. He also respects the entire judicial process, including the district attorney and the judge who were But the fact is, he didn’t was drunk and that they made a mistake when they arrested him for it. We are confident that this charge will be dismissed.

Timberlake’s one-time DWI charge was accompanied by two charges: one for running a stop sign and one for failure to maintain lane.
Sag Harbor police told PEOPLE at the time of the singer’s arrest that while driving his 2025 BMW, Timberlake allegedly failed to “stop at a properly posted stop sign” and “maintain” the vehicle’s “lane.”
After conducting a traffic stop, authorities alleged that Timberlake was “operating his vehicle while intoxicated” and arrested him.
The star was held overnight and then arraigned in Sag Harbor Village Court and “released on his own recognizance,” according to authorities.
