Kajol was born in Kajol Mukherjee Held on August 5, 1974 in Bombay, Maharashtra, India. Her friends call her Kaz. Her parents separated when she was very young, and she was raised by her grandmother. She has been interested in dancing and acting since she was a child. She started her acting career at the age of sixteen and even dropped out of school to become a full-time actress. She achieved a lot of success at a very young age. Kajol and her aunt Nutan Bal hold the record for winning the most Best Actress awards (five). In 2011, she was awarded the Padma Shri by the Indian government.

She attended St. Joseph’s Convent School in Panchgani, Maharashtra, India. During her school days, she participated in dance competitions and many other extracurricular activities. She dropped out of school to pursue her acting career. In 1992, she made her acting debut by playing the lead role of Radhika in the Bollywood film “Bekhudi”.
