Kaley Cuoco Reveals She’s Embraced Postpartum Treadmill Workouts: ‘Amazing for Your Butt and Legs’

Kaley Cuoco embraces her postpartum fitness journey.

The actress, 37, shared with TODAY.com earlier this week that she’s loved working out on the treadmill since she and boyfriend Tom Pelphrey welcomed their daughter, Matilda, in March.

“Going up that incline is so good for your muscles and for your circulation. I’ll also walk backwards, which is amazing for your butt and your legs. Basically everything works,” she told the news outlet.

While each of Cuoco’s treadmill sessions lasts about 25 minutes, they vary between walking backwards and 10-minute HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) forwards. She told the website that her routine is “important to my body and my heart.”

“And never leave practice saying, ‘I wish I hadn’t done that.’ Even if it wasn’t the exercise you envisioned, even if it was a little more modest,” she told TODAY.com. “Getting a good sweat sets the tone for the day.”

As for whether Cuoco and Pelphrey, 41, ever work out together, Big Bang Theory alum told the outlet that they prefer to go solo.

“We like very different things. He lifts a lot. He does a ton of pull-ups and I can’t do a single one. It’s our hour to ourselves,” she said.

The actor went public with Cuoco in May 2022 when he posted a Polaroid photo of the two on Instagram, paired with a long, heartfelt caption. They made their red carpet debut at the 2022 Emmy Awards that September and announced they were expecting their first child together a month later.

And in May of this year, Pelphrey told PEOPLE exclusively that being a dad for the first time is “the best thing ever.”

“I am very grateful that I have a partner with whom I like to do this, because just two days with a baby in the house and I think of parents who raise children alone, and I don’t even understand how they do it. . My respect for single parents has grown,” he said.

Since Matilda’s birth, the two have shared updates about her milestones on Instagram. One of the most recent uploads included photos of her first Halloween outfit.
