Kanye West Said Yeezy Day On Which He Collaborated Was Released Without His Consent

Despite all of Kanye West’s money, fame and attention on behalf of German sportswear giant Adidas, it’s no secret that their relationship is as rocky as ever. Now it seems that the three stripes and Ye are facing yet another difficulty, this time related to the much-hyped Yeezy Day 2022. The creative mastermind took to Instagram to officially confirm that the annual Yeezy Day was on without his knowledge.

Everything you need to know about the Kanye West x Yeezy Day 2022 saga

On August 2, 2022, Kanye West sent a direct message to many media sites, including Complex. In the statement, he rants about countless merchandise being released without his consent, including Yeezy Day. He went on to write about a number of other issues he had with the company and specifically mentioned this in his IG direct message. Yeezy Day 2022 is the third year that the Adidas label celebrates the holiday. However, the DM made it clear that Kanye was not there for the celebration.

“Adidas created the Yeezy day concept without consulting me. Then they went and brought back the outdated designs without my permission.”

It doesn’t end there; he claims that a number of aspects, including the colors, shoe names and personnel involved in the project, were not approved by him.

“(Adidas) chose and specified colors without my consent and hired individuals to work with me without my approval.”

Kanye West’s ire didn’t end there, as he accused the three stripes of stealing his creative brilliance for their own benefit and distributing his ideas through Adidas Originals merchandise.

“(Adidas) stole my colors without my permission, stole my styles and materials without my permission, hired the Yeezy GM without my permission, took the talent on the production side and scattered them across Adidas Originals.”

He goes on to discuss his Yeezy slide heist. When West first asked the company to release additional Yeezy slides, they refused, claiming production was at maximum capacity, and then began releasing adilettes.

“When I first asked Adidas to produce additional Yeezy slides, GM lied to me and said they didn’t have the capacity, while Adidas was duplicating my slides and creating their own version of the Yeezy slide.”

Kanye West also talked about continuing his highly successful collaborations with Balenciaga and Gap. He said the three-stripe label was holding back production of the casual shoes he and Demna Gvasalia, Balenciaga’s creative director, designed for the Gap. Kanye West said he didn’t violate the three-stripes deal while working on casual sneakers with Balenciaga and the Gap. However, the three-stripe branding made Gap believe it.

“Even though they worked with Balenciaga, they completely stopped production of the shoes that Demna and I made for Gap trying to intimidate Gap, despite the fact that my contract stipulates that I can make leisure shoes, which I did when I was doing fashion shows. .”

For those who don’t know, Yeezy Day is an annual event where the German sportswear giant re-releases many popular models from Kanye West’s Yeezy line as well as many new GRs on the official CONFIRMED and Yeezy Supply e-commerce sites for two consecutive days. Given that the company only produces a limited number of each Yeezy release, the event resulted in a huge boost in sales and a new level of publicity for Adidas’ CONFIRMED app, which competes with Nike’s SNKRS app. The Utility Black Yeezy 450 debuted at 10 a.m. ET on August 2, 2022, to kick off this year’s Yeezy Day.
