Kate Beckinsale Shows Off Injuries from Canary Black to Fire Back at Claim That Stunt Doubles Did the ‘Heavy Lifting’

Kate Beckinsale wants you to know that she pulled off many of her own stunts in her new movie Canary Black — and she has the bruises to prove it.

On Saturday, October 26 at Serendipity actress, 51, hit back at a report which claimed stuntmen performed most of the stunts in the action thriller.

Beckinsale shared the screenshot on her Instagram stories The GuardianA review of her film published on Friday, October 25. In it, the reviewer wrote: “The stuntmen probably did a heavy job in the poorly edited hand-to-hand combat scenes and sequences in which [her character] she’s flying through the air holding on to a massive drone, but you can clearly see it’s Beckinsale running around in medium shots and close-ups.”

“Barring the odd make-up bruise or scratch, Beckinsale looks impossibly chic throughout,” the review added.

Beckinsale shared a screenshot of the article, adding “just a few close-ups, @gabriellaclaremorpeth,” tagging Gabriella Morpeth, who worked in the film’s costume department.

In response to a review, Much ado about nothing the actress posted various photos of bruises, bumps and other injuries she sustained on set Canary Black. One picture also shows Beckinsale in a harness that was probably needed to perform some of the stunts.

She has also posted videos of herself performing tricky stunts on Instagram. “Breaking a flawlessly chic ass 🩷and a few close ups don’t hurt lol,” she cheekily wrote in the caption.

Beckinsale’s stunt double for Canary Black Laura Vörtler commented on the post on Instagram, praising her work. “As Kate’s understudy on this job, I can confirm that she has done a lot more [than] medium and close up shots on that one! Me🙄,” wrote Vörlter.
