The photo, which is the first photo of the princess released since her operation, was taken in Windsor earlier this week by the Prince of Wales.

Along with the sweet photo, she wrote: “Thank you for your well wishes and continued support over the past two months.

“I wish everyone a happy Mother’s Day. C”

The announcement came after social media was awash with conspiracy theories about her whereabouts as rumors swirled about her health.

Unfounded internet rumors were sparked when Prince William unexpectedly pulled out of a memorial service last week where he was expected to give a reading.

Kate (42) underwent “planned abdominal surgery” at a London clinic in January.

A private hospital in central London also treated the king as he underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate.

Kensington Palace said at the time that Kate was unlikely to return to public duties before Easter.

Then the mother-of-three apologized for postponing her royal engagement after having non-cancer surgery.

The statement read: “The Princess of Wales would like to apologize to anyone concerned about the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements.

“He’s looking forward to getting back as much as possible, as soon as possible.”

The palace previously said the public “will understand her desire to maintain as much normality as possible for her children.”

Kate first returned to Windsor before continuing her recovery at the family home in Norfolk, Anmer Hall.

Last week mother-of-three Kate was seen for the first time after hospital surgery.

The Princess of Wales was in the passenger seat as mum Carole, 69, drove her in an Audi near Windsor Castle on Monday.

She was wearing sunglasses and appeared to be smiling slightly when seen for the first time since abdominal surgery.

If Kate recovers on schedule, then her first engagement could be at a family service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, on Easter Sunday, March 31.

Earlier this week, the Ministry of Defense had to backtrack after releasing tickets claiming Kate would inspect the dress rehearsal at the Horse Guards Parade for the Trooping of the Color on June 8.

It has since been revealed that the Ministry of Defense had put tickets, which have now sold out, for Kate’s event online before approaching Kensington Palace.
