Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett Hilariously Discuss ‘Amazing’ Shewees That Help Women Stand and Pee

Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett want the world to know about a device that will change the way women pee!

During the performance at The Graham Norton Show On Friday, the two actresses got into a conversation about Shewees – devices that help women urinate standing up – when Winslet, 48, brought up a scene in her 1999 film. Holy smoke.

Winslet’s character is naked and peeing in the desert in the scene, which Blanchett, host Graham Norton and fellow guests Dua Lipa and actor Adrian Lester said was difficult to shoot.

“There was a little device that was attached to the back of my hair with a little piece of, sort of, fishing line. And there was a bag of fluid for a saline drip,” Winslet explained as they simulated urination because she didn’t no I want to pee on camera.

“I had to take this little tube and, you know, wedge it in a certain place,” he said Titanic the star continued, clarifying for Blanchett, 54, that she did it all by herself, despite being offered help.

Someone would run onto the set and release the liquid, which Winslet said would “squirt.”

“But the problem is that when you’re a girl, it doesn’t flow down the middle. It goes all the way down the leg,” she continued. So, she said she had to shoot a huge number of times to “make the little thing hit the floor”.

That story prompted Blanchett to tell everyone how every year she thinks about putting Shewees in people’s stockings for Christmas, but never does.

“Someone gave me a Sheewee – it’s great,” Winslet replied, to which Blanchett said they were “so amazing.”

Winslet admitted to using the device while at Glastonbury Music Festival last year.

Blanchett then stood up and showed what Sheewee is to Lester. “It’s a cup with a small tube, which means you can stand up and direct the flow,” Blue jasmine the star hilariously explained, using hand gestures to enhance her demonstration.

“I have a picture in my head now,” Lester joked in response.
