Kate Winslet is not a fan of Ozempic for weight loss.
While talking to The New York Times Magazine in a wide-ranging interview published on Sunday, Mare of Easttown alum, 48, learned all about the type 2 diabetes drug, which has skyrocketed in popularity for occasional weight loss.

“I don’t actually know what Ozempic is,” said the English actress. “All I know is that it’s some pill that people take or something.”
The outlet noted that the drug has yet to achieve the same popularity overseas as it has in the US

While snacking on the pastry, Rest the actress was intrigued by the medicine, asking her what exactly it was. After the discovery, she was not impressed.
“Oh, my God,” Winslet said. “This sounds terrible. Let’s go eat something else!”
During the interview, the actress reminisced about life when she starred opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in her breakthrough role as Rose DeWitt Bukater in 1997. Titanic.

She says British tabloids questioned her weight at every opportunity when she was young. There was also a reference to the late Joan Rivers, who joked that Winslet had drowned Titanic.
“I never told anyone about it,” the actress said of the eating disorder she was dealing with at the time.
“Because guess what — people in the world around you are saying, ‘Hey, you look great! You’ve lost weight!’ ” she said. “So even a good-looking compliment is weight-related. And that’s one thing I’m not going to let people talk about. If they are, I take them down right now.”
Winslet has previously spoken about how her weight affected her youth.
Talking to The Sunday Times in a December 2022 interview, she recalled being called a “slut” and being advised to settle for “fat girl” roles.

“It can be extremely negative. People are subjected to scrutiny that is more than a young, vulnerable person can handle,” Winslet told the news outlet.

“But it’s really changing in the film industry,” she added. “When I was younger, my agent would get calls saying, ‘How much does she weigh?’ I’m not kidding. So it’s good that this is starting to change.”
In an interview from December 2022 at Happy Sad Confused podcast, Winslet said that if she could do it all over again, she would call people out on the bullying she faced after Titanicliberation.
“I would say, ‘Don’t you dare treat me like this. I’m a young woman, my body is changing, I get it, I’m deeply insecure, I’m terrified, don’t make this any harder than it already is.’ ”
