Katherine Langford is an Australian actress, best known for her roles as “Hannah Baker” in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why (2017) and “Nimue” in the Netflix series Cursed (2020).

Katherine Langford was born on Monday, April 29, 1996 (24 years old in 2020) in Perth, Western Australia, and grew up in Applecross, Australia. Her star sign is Taurus. She began taking voice lessons at Heidi Lake in 2005 and has trained in classical, jazz and contemporary voice. She studied music and drama at Perth Modern School, where she served as sports captain. She was also a nationally ranked swimmer. When she graduated from high school, she decided to become an actor, but encountered difficulties because she was not accepted into any acting schools. She then began taking acting classes and workshops in Perth; she juggled three part-time jobs and eventually managed to find an agent. She majored in musical theatre at the Leadville Principal Dance and Theatre Arts. In 2016, she was selected for the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) Advanced Actors Residency Program. In the same year, she enrolled at the Nicholson School of Screen Acting. She was accepted into the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts to study for a Bachelor of Arts degree and was scheduled to start in 2016. But she chose to become a professional actor and therefore did not attend the academy.

- To relieve stress, she writes songs, reads books, plays piano and sings.
- She was affectionately called “Kate” by her family and loved ones.
- In high school, she was interested in medicine and politics; her third choice was musical theatre. In 2012, she performed on Lady Gaga’s Born This Way tour, which inspired her to learn piano. She wrote three songs – “I’m Crush on Zoe Bos”, “Young and Stupid” and “Three Words” – and uploaded videos of her singing them online; “Young and Stupid” is an anti-suicide song inspired by the suicides of three Perth teenagers.
