Katherine Webb-McCarron and Sons Are Greeted by AJ McCarron at His NFL First Game in Almost Three Years

Katherine Webb-McCarron enjoyed something special with her three sons.

On Sunday, the family headed to Paycor Stadium to watch the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Indianapolis Colts. What they didn’t know at the time was that AJ McCarron would be taking the field in his first NFL game since a knee injury in 2021.

Webb-McCarron, 34, was smiling in the stands with sons Gunnar Cruz, 2½, Cash Carter, 4, and Raymond Anthony McCarron III, aka Tripp, 6. They were greeted by McCarron, who high-fived his sons as he warmed up for the game.

When Bengals quarterback Jake Browning was injured in the fourth quarter, McCarron, the 33-year-old backup quarterback, took the field, the first time his younger two sons had ever seen him on the field in the NFL.

The former Miss Alabama USA and the soccer player married in 2014 after dating in 2012.

McCarron played for five teams as a backup in his career before leaving the NFL in 2022, when he was elected to join the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL, minor league coalition.

In June, McCarron spoke to reporters about what it meant to him to be able to play in front of his guys after the big win, which the team shared on its Instagram.

“It’s great,” he began, crying as his boys ran up to him. “It means a lot.”

“AJ McCarron has held many titles, but ‘Dad’ is the most important of them all,” reads the headline.
