It came nine days after a High Court judge issued a warrant for Price’s arrest.

She flew from the UK to Istanbul on a British Airways flight just hours before she was due to appear in court last Tuesday as part of her £760,000 bankruptcy battle.

A Met spokesman said last night: “A 46-year-old woman from Surrey was arrested at Heathrow Airport at 7.45pm on Thursday 8 August for failing to appear in court.

“She has been remanded in custody at a west London police station to appear at the Royal Courts of Justice tomorrow, Friday 9 August.”

In the statement, she pleaded for the “protection” of her son Harvey.

She wrote: “I am aware that I will be detained at the airport, which is apparently what the courts feel is necessary.

“Of course, I hope for the sake of my son who is with me that he will allow me some dignity and protection at least for his sake.”

Katie added: “This will be extremely upsetting for him to see.

“Even though I understand the importance and seriousness of the matter, I feel like I’m being treated like a criminal.”

The mother-of-five was ordered to pay £25,000 to creditors in one lump sum, followed by monthly installments of £12,500.

Judge Burton said Katie had failed to make court-ordered payments.

“She has no real excuse for not coming to the hearing,” she said. “The reason for her absence is irrelevant.”

Katie has been served with an eviction notice ordering her to vacate her £2million Mucky Mansion by the end of May as bailiffs swooped in.

She was supposed to hand over her six cars – a Volkswagen Beetle, a Nissan, two Range Rovers, a Suzuki Vitara and an Infiniti FX50 – on July 5.

The star also indicated she would hand in her pink Range Rover but has so far failed to do so, the court was told.

She was sunbathing in the heat of 31°C in an expensive hotel while undergoing numerous treatments.

Katie underwent £10,000 eye and chin surgery in Istanbul after her usual surgeon refused to do the job for her.

A source previously revealed that Katie extended her trip due to fears she would be arrested with staples on her face after the operation.

They told The Sun: “Katie is actually extending her holiday and plans to stay longer in Turkey.

Full statement from Katie Price

I would just like to thank everyone who has shown support and sympathy this week with my arrest situation.

Despite what was wrongly reported, I am now back from filming my documentary.

I’ve never just been overseas and I didn’t know what was going on and I stand by the facts, which is that there was a misunderstanding between a number of people here regarding my bankruptcy.

However, I am now returning home from work and am aware that I will be detained at the airport, which is apparently what the courts deem necessary.

Of course, I hope for the sake of my sons who are with me that they will allow me some dignity and protection at least for his sake because it will be extremely upsetting for him.

Although I understand the importance and seriousness of the matter, I feel like I am being treated like a criminal.

I would like to emphasize once again that this is a very unfortunate financial situation which, however difficult, does not make a criminal or a bad person.

Millions of people suffer losses and go through bankruptcy, for many different reasons, mine was due to serious mental health issues and breakdowns caused by PTSD.

Although it was difficult, I will repeatedly stand behind the fact that I am not embarrassed or ashamed that this happened to me.

People lose their lives every day because of the inconvenience and fear of situations like this, and the public bullying I’ve endured over this issue is just not right. I will continue to speak about it and I will not be ashamed.

I am and continue to pay back debtors as ordered by the court.

I will take this up with the police and courts when I land and ask that for the sake of my son Harvey be treated with care and compassion.

I’m just a human being after all. I appreciate all of you for continuing to show me love, it means a lot to me.

“She is worried she will be arrested at the airport when she lands back in the UK and will have to go to jail before the metal staples are removed from her face.

“She’s really worried about getting arrested in front of Harvey, and that would upset her.

“It is better for her to hide in Turkey and recover there.”

While she seems to be at rock bottom with her finances, Katie has a surprise plan up her sleeve.

In her latest autobiography, This Is Me, she wrote: “Bankruptcy no longer causes the same fear now that I see a way out of it.

“If they take material things from me, I know I can earn it.

“I will engage in escorting if necessary, not to sleep with men, just for company. To be at their disposal. I think I would be good at it.

“My mom would tell me I need to work on my table manners first. That’s a joke, by the way.”

She was also embroiled in more drama after private messages between her and her sister Sophie were leaked.

The bombshell talks revealed she cheated on her then-fiancé Carl Woods with an athlete – only to blow him the next day.

Carl told The Sun last month he was “devastated” by Katie’s actions, which he says took place in August 2022.

He claims Katie spent the night with the athlete – who is a friend of Prince Harry and Prince William – and denied claims in her book that he was the one who cheated.

Carl told The Sun: “You start to hate yourself. I couldn’t tell anyone about it because I looked so stupid.

“I couldn’t talk to my friends, my family about it, nobody. So you start hating yourself.”
