Katy Perry Just Created Your Perfect Spring Shoe — and She Named It After Her Daughter! (Exclusive)

When Katy Perry created her new spring shoe line, Katy Perry Collections, she looked everywhere for inspiration.

But that’s what she always does, she says.

“I find inspo in life!” she tells PEOPLE. “Everything from a big statement heel for going out (like the Framing family of shoes) to fun on vacation (like the Camie Stone sandals) to the raffia and denim shoes I love to wear for a run in Santa Barbara.”

All of that comes to the fore in her new launch with HSN, premiering May 9. The nine-shoe collection, which includes fun colorful colors for the season, is a new addition for the retailer, and Perry couldn’t be happier about the partnership.

“I think the merging of my styles with their audience is a wonderful place for both of our brands to grow,” she says.

Heading into spring, the 39-year-old “Firework” singer wanted to have fun with color and texture for her spring collection, and while neutrals are popular, Perry doesn’t believe they’re boring. (She is Katy Perry after all).

“There are these great woven styles in both strappy shoes and two-strap summer sandals, and I get to play with raffia and denim,” she says. “All the colors this season are what I like to call spring neutrals – not everything has to be so pastel, but it can also bring a pop of color to your warmer weather wardrobe.”

After first launching Katy Perry’s collections in 2017 — and buying out full ownership of them in 2022 — she ditched dozens of wacky shoes that she tells PEOPLE fill her with joy, because no outfit is complete without the right flair.

“I feel like my outfit is complete when I put on the perfect pair of shoes,” she says. And often it’s a pair of shoes from her own collection.

She says she “of course” loves the Evie Daisy Flat for Mother-Daughter Day with her daughter Daisy Dove, 3½, who she shares with fiance Orlando Bloom, and is very proud of the “delicate” straps on Leila’s sandal (and a bamboo heel! ).

The American Idol the judge has a lot more tricks up her sleeve when it comes to shoe design. She has already created so many dream shoes, but the wheels are always turning. Despite how busy she is, Katy Perry’s collections are part of her everyday life.

“It’s a lot about balance,” she says of her routine. “The morning starts with going to school, followed by board meetings and Zooms for everyone from KPC to De Soi, and then it’s studio time!”

A self-proclaimed shoe lover, Perry is all about making a fashion statement and wants her customers to be able to do the same. One of her favorite shoe memories is when she bought Dalmatian shoes at a thrift store that “had flap ears and a toe that stuck out.”

“Every time I wore them, someone would comment on them, and that’s what I wanted to do with my shoe line—stop traffic, start conversations.”

Spring KPC styles are now available at HSN. Prices range from $69.99 to $109.00.
