Keanu Reeves and Girlfriend Alexandra Grant Hold Hands While Attending LACMA Art + Film Gala

Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant are lucky in love!

The Matrix star, 59, and the visual artist, 50, attended the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Art + Film Gala together on Saturday, when they were photographed smiling and holding hands in front of one of the museum’s most famous installations, Urban Light.

Once inside, the pair, wearing matching black ensembles, also hit the gala’s red carpet together.

For the evening out, Grant wore a floor-length dress with a keyhole neckline, while Reeves complimented her in a Gucci suit.

The couple was joined at the event by other stars including Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck, Kim Kardashian, Lupita Nyong’o and Andrew Garfield to name a few.

Everything Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant have said about their relationship

Reeves and Grant were friends and collaborators for years before they started dating, having previously worked together on a 2011 book. An ode to happiness.

They then made their first public appearance as a couple at the LACMA Art + Film Gala a year later in 2019.

Although Reeves and Grant haven’t shied away from PDA in the years since, they’ve kept most of their romance under wraps.

But in September, Grant opened up to PEOPLE about her relationship with John Wick star while walking the red carpet alone.

“The good news about falling in love as an adult is that I had built my own career by the time my relationship started,” she told PEOPLE at the Beverly Arts Icon Awards in Los Angeles, where she was honored.

“I feel very confident about the relationship on the red carpet. I feel confident only on him,” added the visual artist. “It is interdependent and independent in the best way.”

At the same event, the seasoned artiste also said that she and the actor push each other creatively.

“What I love about Keanu and our exchange is that we push each other to build new roads,” Grant said. “Seeing another person solve problems is inspiring, like, ‘Oh, okay, okay, uh, that’s a dead end. How can I try the latter?’ ”

She continued: “He is such an inspiration to me. He is so creative, he is so kind. He works so hard.”

Grant also said that “storytelling is at the heart” of what both she and Reeves do.

“My work is much more of a private performance, but I have a text that I interpret in the studio into a picture, into an object,” she explained. “He takes the text in private and then turns it into a performance in public. There is a relationship. We are both readers and explorers at heart. We also care about people and characters.”

“A few years ago I visited the studio and this very kind person at a high level said, ‘I see that your work has become happier,'” she recalled. “It’s real. We are all human beings. We are animals. We express ourselves where we are and we certainly feel happier.”

“I think work is happier,” Grant added.

Reeves also talked about how his relationship made his life more joyful, telling PEOPLE in March that his last moment of bliss at the time was the one he shared with Grant.

A few days ago with my honey, said the actor. “We were in bed. We were connected. We were laughing and laughing and giggling. It felt great.”

“It was very nice to be together,” he added.
