Kedar Nath Gurung was an Indian educator and a prolific Nepali literary writer. His notable works include “Aja Pheri Auta Samajhna Ra Naya Dinharoo” (1970), “Seemanamathi Chadera Sunaeka Agla Hocha Kothaharoo” (1994) and “Aphnai Pakshaharoo” (1984). In 2012, he was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of the Republic of India, by the Indian government.

Kedar Nath Gurung was born on Friday 9th July 1948 (75 years old; 2023) in the village of Lingchomsa East, Sikkim. He currently lives in Gassin, West Sikkim. His zodiac sign is Cancer. He received his primary education at a local school in Lingchom. In 1960, he passed the entrance examination for Turnbull High School in Darjeeling. He is a graduate of Darjeeling College of Government. He started his career as a teacher but later Kedar Nath Gurung gave up teaching career due to his interest in Nepali literature and started running a bookstore.
