Keith Richards' 5 Children: All About His Sons and Daughters

As one of the original members of The Rolling Stones, it’s no surprise that musician Keith Richards has led a legendary life. In addition to being a cult rock star, Keith is also the proud father of his five children: Marlon, Angela, Tara, Theodore and Alexandra.

In the 1970s, Keith had his first three children with model Anita Pallenberg: sons Marlon and Tara and daughter Angela. A few years after his relationship with Pallenberg ended, Keith married model Patti Hansen and the couple had two daughters: Theodora and Alexandra.

Marlon worked with directors Alexis Bloom and Svetlana Zill to create a documentary called On Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg to tell the story of his mother’s life, which is in theaters on May 3, 2024. He was inspired by a manuscript and secretly recorded interviews that Pallenberg had hidden in his home to tell the story of her life, which his children, Ella and Orson, found while family was going through her belongings after her death in 2017.

“I had to sit down and drink a bottle of wine. It was a revelation. She said things I had no idea,” Marlon told PEOPLE.

Keith hasn’t talked at length about his children, but some are more drawn to the limelight than others. His oldest children, Marlon and Angela, live a more private life, while the youngest, Theodora and Alexandra, are the most famous, having pursued careers in the entertainment industry. Unfortunately, his son, Tara, died when he was only 2 months old.

“I love my families,” Keith said Daily Mail in 2010. “I have several — extended. And everyone loves each other. I am extremely blessed with my ladies who, thank God, all get along.”

In December 2022, Keith and Hansen celebrated 39 years of marriage. Theodora wrote a post about their love on her Instagram: “I am so proud of this family. We have been through a lot, but love is so strong and powerful that it carries us forward forever on a cloud of compassion and courage. I love you mom and dad. You are my inspiration.”

Here’s everything you need to know about Keith Richards’ children: Marlon, Angela, Tara, Theodora and Alexandra.

Keith and Pallenberg’s older son, Marlon Leon Sundeep Richards, was born on August 10, 1969, in the middle of The Rolling Stones’ rise to fame. His upbringing was anything but traditional as he grew up touring with Keith, Pallenberg and the band.

“Of course he had a hard time,” Keith said GQ of Marlon’s childhood. In 2017, Pallenberg talked about those years with journalist Alain Elkann. “We were on the road a lot, we traveled on tour, and I took my son everywhere,” she said. “I didn’t send Marlon to school until he was 8 years old. I taught him to read and write while Keith’s mother was babysitting my daughter.”

In 1992, Marlon met model Lucie de la Falaise on a blind date arranged by Pallenberg, who spotted de la Falaise on the cover Vogue Italia, according to Tatler. The two were married in 1994 and have three children: Ella Rose, Orson and Ida Violet. In 2010, Daily Mail reported that Marlon lived in a country house in England and worked as a gallery curator, printmaker and photographer.

“It’s amazing what children can adapt to. It all comes out after washing,” Keith said GQ. “Anyway, we didn’t do anything that bad. I mean, he could have grown up the son of a health freak.”

Marlon’s daughter Ella is a model who has been photographed with other famous children, such as Kate Moss’s daughter, Lila Moss. Ella told in 2012 Teen Vogue she shared clothes with her mom, but her dad had “some really nice cashmere sweaters” that she also liked to borrow.

In an interview with S. in 2014 The TimesKeith said about Marlon and reflected on his parentage. “He’s raising his own children in a very safe way, in his hands all the time because he never got that,” he said.

Two years later she started traveling the world and walking the catwalks, but when Alexandra turned 21, she stopped modeling and started DJing, a skill she learned from her friend EB Sollis. Although she shares part of her life on Instagram, Aleksandra likes to fly under the radar. “I live a very quiet life,” she said. “And the world is scary, so fear is also what makes me not want to post too much. But if it is something very significant, I will publish it.”

2020, Aleksandra said Vogue she met her husband, director Jacques Naudé, through mutual friends, and they got engaged two years later in Turks and Caicos. They tied the knot in the fall of 2019 in a nature-inspired wedding in her parents’ backyard in Connecticut, where the New York couple often spends their weekends.

“We cook, make fires, create, play games, dance and read,” she said. “It’s quite relaxing and always fun. I grew up there, too, and … it was kind of a win that it’s so close for planning purposes as well.”

In March 2021, Alexandra announced in a post on Instagram that she was pregnant with her first child. Her daughter, Arlowe Mae, was born in May of that year.
