Keke Palmer Says Motherhood Made Her ‘More Selective’ About Work β But It Also Gave Her ‘Peace’ (Exclusive)
In March, Palmer told PEOPLE that life is “always a juggling act” these days as she juggles motherhood and her demanding career as an actress, musician and business owner.
“I feel like being 30 years old has put me in a different space that has allowed me to kind of look at my life more,” she said. “I’m not really into the weeds of everything. I really believe and trust that everything will be fine. I think a big part of that peace came from my son.β
Palmer, who is currently filming Pickup truck in Atlanta, said that when Leo is with her on set, “People will say, ‘Oh my God, he’s the cutest kid in the world.’ I said, ‘I know.'”
And given the fact that Leo “goes with me everywhere”, the actress noted that he does not agree to any project.
“[Iβm] definitely pickier with projects,β she said. “I’m looking for things that allow me to be at home with him or it’s a place where I can go and have a room or a trailer.”
“I also want to respect his individuality and his freedom and space. You don’t just come to mom’s world, just mom’s world,β Palmer continued.
“You always have to think about that, with children. Even though we want to take them everywhere and want them to be our world, they’re their own little people, so you have to give them their own sense of structure,” she added. “Because as an adult, I’m kind here, there, and everywhere. I really try to keep that in mind.β
