Keke Palmer’s Ex Files Response to Her Request for Restraining Order Claiming She Was Abusive to Him

Darius Jackson filed a response to Palmer’s domestic violence restraining order against the actress on Friday, accusing her of “physical and verbal abuse.”

Darius Jackson has filed a response to Keke Palmer’s domestic violence restraining order, alleging the actress abused him during their relationship.

In November, Palmer, 30, was granted a temporary restraining order against Jackson after she filed for domestic violence, according to documents reviewed by PEOPLE.

The two share a 9-month-old son, Leodis, and Palmer has also been granted temporary sole custody of him.

On Friday, Jackson, 29, filed a response to Palmer’s domestic violence restraining order against him, alleging that Palmer was the “primary aggressor” in their relationship, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. He cited several alleged cases dating back to August 2021 as he claimed to be Not the actress “participated in abusive behavior during the two-and-a-half-year relationship,” subjecting him to both “physical and verbal abuse.”

He claims there are several instances in which Palmer punched, choked and punched him, as well as one day when she allegedly “called him over 200 times and sent him over 50 emails” when Jackson “told her he wasn’t going to spend the night with her” in November 2021, according to his response document.

In March 2022, he claims he changed his phone number “to avoid further harassment and threats” from Palmer, who he said “often became agitated and aggressive after consuming alcohol,” in the filing.

In the filing, Palmer alleged that Jackson “trespassed into my home” on Nov. 5 and “threatened and then physically assaulted me — lunging at my neck, punching me, throwing me over the couch and stealing my phone when I told him he I was going to call the police.”

In her response, she claims that the video of the interaction she shared is “misleading.” Based on her previous alleged behavior, he claimed she was the “primary aggressor” and requested “a stay away and no contact.”

Jackson, who first started dating the actress in 2021, also requested “joint legal and physical custody” of the couple’s son Leodis in the filing. He claimed that Palmer, who was granted temporary sole custody, “unilaterally eliminated any access” to Leodis.

Jackson’s response comes after the former couple postponed their originally scheduled trial date of Dec. 5 to “allow the parties time to attend mediation,” according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. In a court filing, both agreed that the temporary restraining order “will remain in force and effect” until a rescheduled hearing, extending Palmer’s sole custody.

A source close to the actress told PEOPLE that she “agreed to mediation because the case has received so much speculation and media attention, and she is concerned about her privacy, Leo’s privacy, and her family’s privacy.”

“Keke will continue to protect his safety and the safety of Leo above all else,” the source added.
