In a January cover story interview with PEOPLE, the “Since U Been Gone” singer shared similar thoughts about the idea of looking for a new romantic partner.
“Dating sucks. It’s so embarrassing,” Clarkson said with a laugh at the time. “I was single until I was about 30 and forgot how good I was at it. I said to my friend [that a potential partner] he would have to be an individual who brings his own life to the table without needing anything from me. It’s far more romantic to say, ‘I want you, but I don’t need anything.’ I’m doing really well right now, I’m having a good time.”
