Kelly Ripa reveals her Christmas tree — and it’s looking a little different this year!
The Living with Kelly and Mark host, 54, revealed the hilarious story behind her putting up the holiday centerpiece with her co-host and husband Mark Consuelos, 53, on Monday, Dec. 9,
“This year we had two trees. One arrived and it was too big for us to fit in our house,” she said. “The Christmas tree is a big deal for me every year, it’s what I look forward to. And when the tree arrived and they opened it, it was like a scene [National Lampoon’s Christmas] Rest. The whole tree became [huge] It was like an onion in full bloom.”
She explained that the tree “was a giant” and stood “three feet taller” than the room’s ceiling height would allow, adding that “it was the width of the room, so the whole room became a tree.”

“So we got what I like to call Treemáchic or Pinejaro. She’s thin, don’t lose weight – it’s a shame. She is sensitive to it. She practiced every day. She’s beautiful,” Ripa continues. “But when I tell you, hanging ornaments on this tree … even the brightest ornament and the branches are like, ‘I can’t.'”

Consuelos chimes in: “Yes, I’ve heard expressions like, ‘These branches are limp.’ Agreeing with her husband, Ripa notes that “most of the decorations are inside the tree.”
Although it took some time to get used to their smaller tree at first, Consuelos says, “I think it’s great” because they still have enough space to actually rest in the room.
Ripa adds: “I never managed to get to the back of the tree. It’s usually under-edited because I just can’t get back there. But now he is fully clothed.”
“And we spent some time there this weekend,” says Consuelos. “We lit the fireplace. The hearth was burning. It was nice.”

Ripa also shared a look at her Christmas tree in an Instagram post on Dec. 8, along with the caption: “Look ladies 🎄even the trees are skinny this year #treemáchic?”
It’s noticeably smaller than the couple’s tree from last year, which can be seen covering the entire middle window and gracing the ceiling in an Instagram post shared on Dec. 1, 2023.
Ripa previously shared that she and Consuelos decorate their Christmas tree every year with their 33-year-old collection of ornaments. The longtime couple got married in May 1996 and together they have three children – Michael (27), Lola (23) and Joaquin (21).

The Live wire the author also shared a look at the decorations outside her New York home, which is currently under construction, and revealed that she and her husband weren’t on the same page about one particular piece of decor.
“A lot of people wanted to see the front of the house and how I decorated the site,” Ripa said during the episode. “And the people from the construction site are so accommodating and tolerant towards me.”
She continues, “I got this big snowman, and Mark didn’t want a snowman at all, so I asked the people on the site, ‘Can we put a snowman in here?’ And they said: ‘Whatever sails your ship!’ To which I said, ‘Oh my God, how can I get Mark to tell me that?'”

Ripa hilariously told how the “little package” became a focal point for neighborhood dogs.
“Cute, isn’t it? Festive. See, see the little package? Dogs usually pee there,” she says. “Not ours, someone else’s. And now we gave them something to urinate on. Isn’t that nice? Now they have a pee present. Isn’t it sweet? And we made a compromise!”
