Kelsey Anderson Calls Her Living with 'Bachelor' Joey Graziadei and 2 Roommates ‘a New Girl Situation’

Kelsey Anderson’s happily ever after with Joey Graziadei involves an awkward living situation.

As the Monday, June 10 episode of Jason Tartick airs Trade secrets podcast, the newly engaged couple opened up about how their lives changed after finding love Bachelor.

“I was still working, so I was like, you know, I have to go back to my, like, I’m not going to quit my job,” Anderson explained. “He was just living with his sister, so I said, ‘You can move in with me.’ I have a really big room and all my roommates were in. They said, “We can’t wait to meet Joey,” and it’s kind of like New girl the situation.”

The beloved FOX sitcom, which ran for seven seasons from 2011 to 2018, starred Zooey Deschanel as a quirky elementary school teacher who moves in with three men in Los Angeles, played by Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Damon Wayans Jr.

Graziadei could not disagree with his future wife’s explanation.

“Yeah. I’m just on, like, a comedy sketch. I feel like I’m full on New girl the situation. There are three girls and one Joey. I’m just, like, sitting there in the middle of the hall,” he said.

After Anderson noted that it also feels like you’re living in a version of real life FriendsGraziadei revealed why it’s a “great atmosphere to be in” after previously living with his sister.

“I think people forget that in my situation, moving in with my sisters was strategic. Like, I was living in Hawaii. There’s no way I could live there with the kind of money I’d be working with New York reporters in LA,” he said. “So I thought, ‘I’ve either got to find a new place or I’ve got to go to a place that will allow me to travel overland pretty easily.’ ”

Graziadei called their living arrangement a “no-brainer.”

“It would be wrong of me to say, we have to get you out of what your life was because she gave up her whole life to be a part of this. And I knew that no matter what happened, my life had to change and go somewhere else,” he said.

Anderson also noted that the two weren’t home as often during summer trips.

“It’s like our base. It’s like our closet right now because we’ve traveled so much. It’s like, it’s just, like, where our clothes are,” she said. “We unpack and repack to go immediately to the next place.”
