Happy Halloween from Scandal honor.
ABC political drama alums Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn and Scott Foley decided to play up their characters’ love triangle by dressing up as Tasha, Art and Patrick from Luca Guadagnino’s 2024 film. Challengers“Challengers accepted 🎾🎾🎾,” Washington, 47, wrote on Thursday, Oct. 31, in a joint Instagram post alongside Goldwyn, 64, and Foley, 52. “#HappyHalloween,” the actress added.
The image, which appears to be a photoshopped mash-up of their images, shows Washington as tennis star-turned-coach Tashi Duncan, who stars as Zendaya in the sports drama. He is wearing a gray T-shirt with the words “I Told Ya” written in black letters. Like Zendaya in the film, Washington’s long, dark hair falls almost to her waist.
A shirt inspired by the late John F. Kennedy Jr. Challengers costume designer Jonathan Anderson, quickly became a meme moment from the film. Zendaya, 28, showed up at a surprise screening in New York wearing a T-shirt as a nod to her character. She combined the shirt with black wide-leg pants, white mesh loafers and a brown balloon.

The original top is speculated to be related to the inaugural buttons designed for President Kennedy in 1961, which bore a similar slogan, “I told you so,” in bold red letters.

Challengers Explanation of the ending: Who won the final match?
Goldwyn channeled the character of Art Donaldson (played by Mike Faist) by wearing a red Nike Stanford T-shirt over a long-sleeved white shirt and a matching red backwards baseball cap. He also carried a tennis racket (of course). Foley was dressed as Patrick Zweig (Josh O’Connor), wearing a black sleeveless top with pink abstract lines.
While it’s certainly a tennis movie, the actual sport takes a back seat to the love triangle between Tasha, Art and Patrick. The tension is not unlike the dynamic between Washington Scandal character Olivia Pope, Goldwyn’s President Fitzgerald and Foley’s Jake Ballard.
