Kesha says she has “never felt happier” as she marks a “whole new and very exciting chapter” in her career.
The 36-year-old pop star caught up Magazine V just two months after parting ways with Kemosabe and RCA Records, as well as Vector Management.
Revealing that she’s been eyeing one date in particular when it comes to the possibility of releasing new material, Kesha told the publication, “I’m going to say … to all my fans, to all my animals, this has been a ride. I’ll say there is a day — even though I won’t say a day – but there’s a day marked on my calendar when I’m free to play music.”
“So just know that she’s out here in the woods, writing and singing until four in the morning, fierce. I’m a wild wild woman out here. So just know that,” she added.

When asked about what’s next for her career, Kesha — who told the paper she’s written “somewhere between seven and 10 songs” during her stint as a songwriting class teacher at the Esalen Institute — explained her current mindset, noting: “I will say this: I have never felt happier, more excited, more at peace, and more purposeful in my entire life.”
“And I feel like I’ve definitely earned the right to be this happy. So let’s just go with it … I’m loving every minute of what feels like a brand new and very exciting chapter,” she added.

The new chapter also follows the end of Kesha’s legal battle with producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald in June and the end of her contract with Gottwald’s label Kemosabe, which is distributed through RCA Records.
She also reportedly parted ways with Vector Management last year on “amicable terms,” and Kesha then signed with Crush Management earlier this month.
In June 2023, Kesha and Gottwald, 50, agreed to settle his defamation lawsuit out of court. The Grammy winner sued Gottwald nearly a decade ago, accusing him of sexual, emotional and physical abuse. Both Gottwald and Kesha released statements about the settlement last year.
“God only knows what happened that night. Like I always say, I can’t recount everything that happened,” Kesha wrote. “I look forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and starting a new one. I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved.”
Kesha previously sued Gottwald over claims he drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2005. In 2016, a judge dismissed Kesha’s claims. Gottwald again denied the allegations last year and wished her “well” in his 2023 statement.
At the time, Gottwald wrote, “While I appreciate Kesha again admitting that he can’t tell what happened that night in 2005, I am absolutely certain that nothing happened.”

In recent months, Kesha has been teasing new music with some fun DIY signs, as she was first spotted in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Los Angeles last month with a hand-written sign that read “NEW MUSIC COMING SOON!” She also uploaded several photos and videos from the studio shoot on social networks.
Kesha did the same in February when she was joined by friends Kyle Richards and Morgan Wade to further tease the new material by once again holding a handmade sign. “Freedom, I’ve been waiting for you,” read the message, which Kesha later confirmed was the lyrics of a new song.
Kesha’s latest LP, Gag Orderwas published in May 2023.
