Kevin Bacon celebrates 35 years of marriage with Kyra Sedgwick.
On Monday, Bacon, 65, shared a photo on Instagram of himself and Sedgwick, 58, in which he and Sedgwick are hugging on a chair. Bacon is seen kissing Sedgwick’s head as she smiles for the camera.
“35 years is like a heartbeat. #anniversary”, the Free wrote the actor in the description.
Some of the couple’s famous friends congratulated Bacon and Sedgwick on their marital milestone in the comments, with Rita Wilson writing: “Hangs! Happy anniversary! Can you believe it? It’s going so fast! We’re 35, soon to be 36!”
Sedgwick also shared a throwback photo on Instagram, captioning it: “It was 1987 – on the set of ‘Lemon Sky’ – I met a man named Kevin. Happy 35 my love.”

Bacon and Sedgwick met on the set of a PBS film Lemon heaven 1987 and were engaged by the end of that year. The couple married on September 4, 1988 and have two children: Travis (34) and Sosie (31).
“I was knocked out,” Bacon told PEOPLE in March when he first met Sedgwick. “I thought she was amazing.”
Although Sedgwick said she wasn’t immediately smitten like Bacon, the actress said she realized he was the one that day after they went out to dinner on their first date.

“I remember waking up and saying, ‘I feel like home,'” she told PEOPLE. “I realized, ‘Oh, that was him.’ ”
The pair have even combined their creative powers over the years, most recently when Sedgwick directed Bacon in the film A cosmic oddity. Sedgwick said in March that their shared interest in making each other laugh was one of the keys to their marriage.
“A sense of humor is key,” she said. “He’s very funny.”

“To me, walking down the street together just shooting s— in the middle of the night still feels like a nice place,” Bacon added, enjoying a break with Sedgwick.
Bacon and Sedgwick have expressed support for the Hollywood actors’ strike that has been ongoing in recent months; the couple appeared together at a New York rally in July, shortly after SAG-AFTRA went on strike on July 13.
“I’m walking in line in solidarity with my fellow SAG-AFTRA members #SAGAFTRAstrike #SAGAFTRAstrong,” Bacon wrote on Instagram in the caption of a video of himself joining the protest line in July.
