Khalen Saunders, Brother of Taylor Swift's Dancer Kameron, Tackles Travis Kelce During Chiefs-Saints Game

Travis Kelce took a hard hit during the Chiefs’ Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints — and the player who hit him has a special bond with the tight end’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

Travis, 35, was knocked to the ground in the third quarter of Monday Night Football’s game between Kansas City and New Orleans at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday, Oct. 7, when Saints defensive end Khalen Saunders tackled Chiefs tight end during a defensive play.

All’s well in love and football, of course, but the difficult takedown of Khalen, 28, happened while his brother, Kameron Saunders, was in attendance with Swift, 34.

Kameron, 32, is a fan-favorite dancer on Swift’s hugely successful Eras Tour, working with the “So High School” singer before her romance with Kelce began.

Travis’ brother Jason Kelce shared his reaction to the moment on Xu (formerly Twitter).

“I hate that it happened but that’s one heck of a game by ex-Chief @khalenNOTkaylen, he was moving for the big man!!” he wrote.

Former NFL player JJ Watt also shared his thoughts on the social media platform.

‘Taylor Swift’s backup dancer Khalen Saunders’ brother just tackled her boyfriend Travis Kelce to stop him from scoring a touchdown. On the next play, he intercepted Patrick Mahomes in the end zone.’ “I didn’t expect to explain that to Kealia as she was coming down the stairs,” he wrote.

Fortunately, Travis appeared unscathed after the crash and returned to the game.

Khalen was Travis’ teammate in Kansas City for three years and won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs in 2019 and 2022 before signing a three-year contract with the New Orleans Saints.

The invisible relationship between the Saunders brothers and superstar couple Swift and Kelce is long — the Saints player even called Swift a “goat” after taking his daughter to see Kameron in concert with her in March 2023 — months before his then- teammate.

“Just to think, my babies got to see their daddy AND their Auntie Goofy perform on the world stage,” Khalen wrote on social media at the time, sharing videos of Cameron dancing and his daughter proudly looking at her uncle. “Great show last night @taylorswift you might be really 🐐.” “And to my big brother, keep inspiring,” Khalen added to his post after seeing the Eras Tour — which Swift will be relaunching on October 18 in Miami. “Me, all those hopeful dancers and the rest of the world need people like you to look to when you need hope. I love you ❤️🤞🏾”

Ahead of the Chiefs’ matchup against the Saints in Week 5, Khalen joked that his brother would be better off rooting for him during the game as an attempt to defeat boyfriend Kameron’s “boss” team.

Eras tour dancer Kameron Saunders calls performing with Travis Kelce a ‘full circle moment’ — and he fits!

“I was first,” Khalen said teasingly when asked by a reporter if his brother revealed his loyalty for Monday’s contest.

“He’s going to be on my side,” Khalen said, joking, “He’s not going to root for the Chiefs … He’s going to root for me because I’m paying his ticket.”
