Khyaati made her acting debut at the age of seventeen playing the role of Sejal in the Star Plus TV series Kunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2000).
She has since appeared in many other Hindi television shows, including Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki (2005), Kesar (2004), CID (2002), Ssshhhh…Koi Hai (2002) and Mamta (2006).
After a two-year break, Kyaati returned to television in 2011 with the show Beendh Banunga. She said in an interview that she took a break from work because of her children.
She has appeared in many other television shows including Dil Se Di Dua…Saubhagyavati Bhava (2011), Shubh Vivah (2012) and Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev (2011).
She is currently playing the role of Pallavi Vikram Kohli in Balaji Telefilms’ acclaimed TV series Kumkum Bhagya (2019). Speaking about her role, she said:
I got more recognition. I’ve been on this show for two and a half years, which is a given when you’re one of the top three shows in the country. People recognize me whenever I go, but more so for my roles in Kynkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Dil Se Dil Tak. But now, this recognition comes only from Kumkum Bhagya and wherever I go, I am called Pallavi.

Kayati had a supporting role in the film Nayak: The Real Hero (2001). She also played a journalist in the film Deha (2007). However, she claimed that she is more inclined to work in television shows than in Bollywood films. She said in an interview,
I have never been a big fan of Bollywood. I acted in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Deha, but that was because my husband was his friend. I also played a small role in “Nayak” but like I said, this is just my TV. You know, I started acting when I was 17, but I always wanted to be an actor rather than a star. For me, the role needed to be character driven, not just glamorous and chic. “
