Kieran Culkin a ‘Bit Thrown’ by Sarah Snook, Wife Plucking ‘Painful’ Hair from Ear Before Critics Choice Awards Win

Favorite TV Drama Actor Nominated for 2024 Critics Choice Awards!

SuccessionKieran Culkin took the stage to accept the coveted award and forgot everything he wanted to say. What followed, instead, was an unexpected rant about his twin earlobes — painfully plucked by his wife, Jazz Charton, and co-star Sarah Snook just before he took the stage.

“I’m a little confused, actually,” Culkin, 41, began. “I have this hair that grows on the side of my ear. Not like ear hair.”

Culkin then noted how his wife sometimes “surprises” me by pulling out her hair — and so does Snook. But during Sunday’s awards, he revealed another hair of an unusual length on the other side of his head.

When Snook plucked one from his left ear, Culkin realized it wasn’t the one he was used to feeling. So his wife discovered that another hair was rooted and growing. – Both of them started pulling my hair alternately, and it was very painful – Culkin continued with the laughter of his peers. “And now, here I am talking about it instead of saying what I was ready to say, which is now gone. And I’m probably out of time.”

Culkin used the rest of his speech to shout out the camera crew Succession. “I feel like they’re always underrated — it’s the camera department,” he said. “Especially the cameramen. I mean, they’re filming the thing. I feel like on our show, they were like saviors.”

Marvel fans will be super familiar with Hiddleston’s work as the diabolical Norse god Loki, and the Disney+ series is Hiddleston’s playground from June 2021.

On top of Hiddleston’s personal acting nod, his co-stars Ke Huy Quan and Sophia Di Martino both received supporting nominations. The show was also awarded the award for the best drama series.

RAMÓN RODRà GUEZ

Rodríguez’s excellent performance as the title character Will Trent on ABC’s procedural crime drama earned him his only series nomination at this year’s CCA.

He told PEOPLE of the series ahead of its debut last January: “It’s a crime drama that has a lot of heart and doesn’t take itself too seriously. It laughs at itself sometimes. I think that’s a fine line that we’ve been able to balance. There’s some seriousness to it. , there is some drama, but we are still able to thread the needle with a little humor and levity.”

In the series finale, Strong’s character Kendall Roy was left alone and grieving, contemplating a future without father, family or power once and for all. Sunday’s ceremony was arguably a bit more celebratory for the actor, who joined Culkin, Snook, Macfadyen and the show itself as one of the show’s five 2024 CCA awards.

Succession won the Critics Choice Award for Best Drama Series.
