WHEN Dean Allsop got into an argument with his neighbor over bins, it sparked a row between the two – but fiancee Louise Newell never dreamed it would end in murder.
The couple reported Jamie Crosbie, their neighbor in Norwich, to the police after he started pointing a gun at them during a minor dispute in 2018.

But two years later, mum-of-three Louise, then 43, watched in horror as the evil monster, 50, stabbed 40-year-old Dean Allsop 17 times in front of his teenage son before attacking her.
Miraculously, she survived the cuts on her forehead, neck and chest, although she sadly lost Dean.
Bloody Crosbie was arrested and given a life sentence in court in 2022, where the judge declared him a “very dangerous man”.
Bravely speaking exclusively to The Sun about her terrifying ordeal, Louise says: “Our neighbor picked on Dean for two years and then took revenge on him. He was mean.
“He stole my children’s father for nothing. Even though Dean is gone, I will never stop loving him.”
Louise and Dean, a farmer, met as teenagers and were each other’s first loves. Over the years, they got engaged and had three children, Millie (22), Mikey (20) and Jacob (8).
Louise, a baker, says: “For over 25 years Dean has been my world. He was also a brilliant father.
“We initially lived in London, but decided to take our family to the coast, to Norfolk, where it was safer for the children to grow up.
“We found a nice three bedroom house in a quiet crescent in 2011. The neighbors were wonderful.
“Dean played outside with the kids every day. He took them fishing on weekends. He was their best friend.

“His main passion was motocross. Ever since Mikey was a baby, Dean taught him to ride. It was their special bond.”
Years later, in 2016, the family got a new neighbor, Crosbie.
Unlike their other neighbors in the quiet Crescent in Thorpe St Andrew, Norwich, Crosbie never smiled or said ‘hello’, he kept to himself.
Two years later, in 2018, Louise was rocking their youngest to sleep when her daughter ran into the bedroom, shouting that a neighbor was trying to attack their dad.

Louise says: “I rushed to the window and saw Jamie, in the road, throwing knives at Dean.
“I was horrified. I couldn’t believe it. He yelled at Dean for touching his trash can.
“Luckily Dean locked himself in the garden and shouted at me to call the police. I called 999 and Jamie spotted me holding the baby in the window.
“He threw the hammer directly at us. But he missed and hit the neighboring window.
“I screamed, in shock. A few minutes later the police came and arrested Jamie.

“No one was hurt, but my family and all the neighbors were really shaken.”
Crosbie pleaded guilty to carrying an offensive weapon and criminal damage at Norwich Crown Court in October 2018.
He was fined and ordered to do community service.
A terrifying attack
After he returned to the street, Louise was terrified and avoided taking the children out for a while.
She says: “The police told us that Jamie would never come near us again. Dean kept telling me that we should move on and live in peace.

“He even said that he would shake his hand and forgive him if he saw him.
“Luckily we never saw Jamie after that. He stayed out of our way because he was on probation.
“Due to the Covid pandemic in the years since, we hardly left the house anyway.”
In April 2021, Dean was outside the house helping their son Mikey, who was 17 at the time, ride his motorcycle.
Crosbie heard the engine revving and went outside, yelling at Dean about the noise.

Louise
Crosbie then ran into his home and returned, holding a large kitchen knife.
Louise was inside, bathing their youngest while their daughter was at a friend’s house.
Louise says: “Mikey ran in screaming that dad was dead. In shock, I didn’t understand.
“For a second I thought maybe Dean had been run over or had crashed his engine.
“I rushed out and saw Dean on the road, in a pool of blood.
“Jamie was standing in his front garden, covered in blood, holding a huge knife. He stared at me in silence.
“I followed and yelled at Mikey to lock the door and stay inside with Jacob. I then called 999 as I raced over to Dean.

“He was stabbed all over his body. I couldn’t stop screaming.
“Dean’s eyes were closed, but he squeezed my hand. I was hysterical.
“The operator was telling me to stay calm, but I looked up to see Jamie marching towards Dean again.”
Howling, Louise backed away as Crosbie viciously stabbed Dean again, this time twice in the neck.
He stabbed the father of three children a total of 17 times.
As Dean lay dying, the cold-blooded killer pounced on Louise.

Louise
She says: “I begged him to stop while I dodged the knife. But I wasn’t quick enough and he cut my forehead open.
“Then he stabbed me twice in the neck and once in the chest. I almost collapsed in agony. But I told myself that if I did, my children would no longer have a mother.
“I continued to wrestle him away with all my strength, and he stabbed me in the arm.
“Suddenly my neighbor appeared and told Jamie to leave me alone, distracting him.”
Crosbie turned to Louise’s neighbor and began stabbing her in the neck as well.
Blinded by the blood in her eyes, Louise struggled to see, but when she finally did, she saw that Jamie had run back to his home.

Creepy mockery
Horrified neighbors leaned over their fences and beckoned Louise over. She managed to escape to someone’s house.
Louise says: “A few moments later, I heard helicopters and I knew Dean was going to be okay. I knew he would save him.”
A team of officers caught Crosbie, covered in blood, outside his home.
In a chilling remark, as he was being handcuffed, he told police: “Killing people is not always a bad thing.”
Meanwhile, Louise was rushed to Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.
Louise says: “I kept watching the door, waiting for Dean to come in too.
“Instead, a policeman turned up and told me that Dean had passed away.
“My whole world collapsed. I was sobbing as I was rushed to the emergency room.”
Five neighborhood disputes that ended in murder
Author: Josh Saunders
NEIGHBORS can be our best friends or our worst enemies.
Sometimes all it takes to break up a relationship is a small argument or an issue over parking or bins.
Tragically, disputes between neighbors can escalate to the point of violence – as these harrowing cases prove:
Serial killer Barry Williams killed five of his neighbors and wounded three others in a shocking massacre in 1978. He was released after 15 years and in 2014 police feared another attack. William – then renamed Harry Street – was brought to court after he was found to be making a bomb and possessing a firearm. He died that year behind bars from a heart attack.
Can Arslan stabbed his neighbor Matthew Boorman 27 times after a long argument. A Gloucestershire man has been jailed for 38 years. Neighbors sought legal action against Arslan in the months leading up to the murder after receiving regular threats and feeling “insecure in their own homes”.
Former soldier Collin Reeves stabbed neighbors Stephen and Jennifer Chapple to death with a ceremonial military dagger in 2021. An argument over parking ensued.
Deranged Anthony Lawrence built a secret passageway into his neighbour’s loft before using it to try to kill pregnant Laura Sugden with a crossbow. An East York man shot her partner Shane, killing him, and later took his own life in 2018. Before the attack, she had complained about the smell of weed coming from his home.
Sick murderer William Wilkinson dismembered his neighbour’s body and disposed of it across Lancashire and Cumbria. He beat Eddie Forrester to death with a wooden bat before attempting to cover up his horrific murder in 2023. The reason for the attack remains a mystery.
A heartbreaking loss
A heartbroken Louise woke up after the operation to find that her forehead had split open from where Jamie had cut her.
Surgeons stitched her back up as a facelift while also repairing nerves in her neck that had been severed.
Her neighbor, who came to her aid, also underwent surgery on her neck after being stabbed and she survived.
Louise says: “I didn’t care about anything but my Dean. I was 40 years old and Dean was all I knew since I was a teenager.
“I couldn’t accept that he left. After returning home, the children were beside themselves.

“That monster stole my children’s father for nothing.”
In August 2022, Jamie Crosbie, 50, of Primrose Crescent, Thorpe St Andrew, Norwich, was found guilty of one count of murder against Dean at Norwich Crown Court.
He was also found guilty of two counts of wounding with intent against Louise and her neighbour.
He was sentenced to life in prison and must serve at least 28 years.
Louise says: “I’m relieved he couldn’t have hurt anyone else. But time wouldn’t make up for taking Dean from us.
“Jamie was pissed off after the first arrest and took revenge.
“Now the children and I have moved and started over. But we mourn Dean every day.
“He was the funniest, cheekiest man you’d ever meet.”
