Jimmy Kimmel is gearing up to return to late night on Monday – and what better way with The Kardashians spoof?
In a promotional clip posted to Instagram on Saturday, the 55-year-old host recreated the dramatic phone call that took place between Kim Kardashian and her sister Kourtney during the fourth season premiere of the hit family’s Hulu show on Thursday.
Kimmel inserted clips of himself in Kourtney’s place as he “called out” Kim, 42, and let her know that his show is “back on Monday.” Suffice to say, in this version of the reality clip, the SKIMS founder was less than thrilled to hear the news.
“What do you think?” Kim asked. In the original scene, she and Kourtney, 44, discussed her partnership with Dolce & Gabbana, which upset Kourtney because it happened just six months after the fashion house designed her wedding dress. The sisters discussed the tension in a heated phone conversation that left both frustrated and emotional.
“I think the writing strike is over and the show is going to come back,” Kimmel replied, prompting Kim to ask, “Are you happy?”
“Yes, I am happy. I am very happy. Are you happy for me?” he said, before telling Kim, “You just don’t seem that happy for me.”

The Kardashians star then took offense to Kimmel’s look as she said, “No, that’s where I think you’re wrong. If anything, I said, I don’t like — and I said to Khloé, I’m like, ‘I don’t like your look, I don’t like this, I don’t like—.’”
In her conversation with Kourtney, Kim mentioned some of her sister’s looks at her wedding to Travis Barker in May 2022, which she didn’t particularly like.
“You don’t like my look? What’s wrong with my appearance?” Kimmel asked, looking at his casual outfit: oversized jeans and a hoodie.
Kim replied: “It’s not that original. Everybody’s doing the ’90s,” causing the late-night host to sigh in mock horror at the insult.
When Kourtney said this, the Poosha founder let loose, telling her sister, “You’re talking about bulls— details because that’s all your egotistical, selfish mind can think about. You can’t handle someone else being the center of attention.. Came you were at my wedding, you couldn’t be happy, you were complaining from the second you came to the second you left… you couldn’t be happy for me, you couldn’t be happy that I was the center of attention.”

Kimmel even included Kim’s now-viral comment about the existence of a dedicated “Not Kourtney” group chat as a result of the eldest Kardashian-Jenner sister’s behavior. “We have casual conversations about everybody,” Kim said in the episode and on the host’s late-night special.
When the call ended, Kimmel jokingly referred to Kim as a “witch” as he shook off her negativity in response to the news of his show’s return.
Kimmel’s beloved sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez had his back though: “I don’t know, Jimmy. I think she’s just jealous because you look so good in these jeans.”
The two enjoyed their own excitement over the return of late night, which comes less than a week after the Writers Guild of America (WGA) voted to end the writers’ strike at 12:01 a.m. PT on September 28.
In a joint statement, four members Strike Group Five podcast — Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert — announced their return to their network television shows starting Monday.

The return to late-night television comes nearly five months after five hosts halted production on May 2 due to the WGA strike.
In light of their newfound free time, they teamed up and launched Strike Group Five limited podcast series in August to raise funds for their out-of-work employees.
Although they are shifting gears to refocus on their shows, they said in a statement that they “have a few more episodes left.”
They wrote on Instagram: “This is Strike Force 5 being signed and Late Night 5 being re-signed…”
