  • Srikanth was once asked about the nature of his superstition. His answer to this was:

“All of us, everyone is superstitious. I used to look at the sun every time I went into the fields because I believed in the sun god. I come from a very religious Orthodox family. Maybe it was the upbringing, but I had to look at the sun. The habit of three times, turning the bat, touching the pad, then getting into a squat, legs apart, etc. The extra “K” was added to my name for numerical reasons.”

  • Many Indian cricketers have expressed their views on Srikkanth. Kapil Dev said,

“Srikkanth’s technique is unique. He is different from others. He is a batsman who can defend the ball and hit the same ball when he wants. He hits the bowlers all over the place. He has a huge pair of Eyes. He is a great entertainer. He has achieved great things in both five-day and one-day cricket but I do admire the way he bats.”

    Najot Singh Sidhu said,

“In his time, you could never set a pitch for Srikanth. His batting was magnetic and attracted spectators from all over the world. His batting was so good that even opponents loved to watch him The most striking feature of Srikanth’s batting is his urge to control the bowler when he bats, either tearing up the attack or getting out. I have never seen anyone bat like him. He has his own personality and style that no one can copy ‘Cheeka Bhai’.

    Saeed Kirmani told

“A cheerful person like Srikkanth is a blessing. He is a very tolerant person, a good teammate and a source of encouragement on the field. For athletes, when they are under pressure, the look on their face says it all. The most enviable quality of Srikkanth is that he never shows himself to be in a tense situation. This quality has helped Srikkanth achieve success.”

    Sachin Tendulkar said,

“In Pakistan, Srikanth used to joke with me, ‘Sachin, you will be India’s captain. Don’t forget me’.” The atmosphere is relatively relaxed. Chica never maintained a formal captain-player relationship. I got plenty of encouragement from him. For any young person to have that kind of encouragement, I was lucky enough to play under him. He never put pressure on me. He would say: “Play your game. Play your natural game and you will make runs”. Srikkanth is a friendly guy and a great guy. “
