Krispy Kreme Is Giving Out Free Donuts as ‘Sweet Relief’ for Those Impacted by ‘Frustrating’ Cellphone Outage

Krispy Kreme has a sweet deal to combat any cell phone service annoyances.

The donut chain is giving away free Original Glazed Donuts from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday night in honor of Thursday’s nationwide cell service outage.

“While your service is down, we serve! FREE original glazed donut today from 5pm to 7pm for anyone with service issues 🆘📱Look for Hot Light!” read Krispy Kreme’s Instagram post.

On Thursday morning, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile customers reported service issues, according to NBC News and CNN.

AT&T says wireless service restored after nationwide outage: ‘We sincerely apologize’

According to the service monitoring site DownDetector, AT&T customers reported increasing problems, with the largest outage of nearly 75,000 early Thursday. The numbers evened out around 9 a.m. ET, according to the site.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the service outage, but as of 3:30 p.m. ET, AT&T said it had restored service for all affected customers.

Although only glazed donuts are free, Krispy Kreme recently introduced its “Chocomania” collection.

Krispy Kreme has released a new ‘Chocomania’ collection of donuts inspired by Hershey’s.

The limited-edition pastries, which first became available on Feb. 19, are “coated, filled and topped” with so much Hershey that the brand thinks they’re its “most chocolaty creation ever,” according to the release.

Hershey’s galaxy brownie is the only filled dessert in the offer. It takes a donut and fills it with dark chocolate cream before you dip the whole thing in chocolate frosting and top it with cookie bits and rainbow sprinkles.

Hershey’s Black and White Chocolate Dream was inspired by another dessert: the black and white cookie, of course. The original glazed donut is dipped in white glaze and topped with chocolate glaze. In addition, a sprinkle of small chocolate chips gives extra crunch.

Hershey’s chocolate ice is also made from the original Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut. But this new menu item is dipped in milk chocolate frosting and topped with extra chocolate.

Last, but certainly not least, is Hershey’s chocolate chip cookie overload. Hershey’s Old Fashioned Cake Donut is dipped in milk chocolate frosting and topped with dark chocolate buttercream.
