Kristen Bell may be the voice Gossip Girlbut for the actress, the Upper East Side could be anywhere.
In an interview with Stare — alongside Adam Brody, her co-star in the new Netflix series Nobody wants this — Bell (44) reveals that until recently she didn’t even know where the series was filmed.
“It’s funny that Gossip GirlI was only on the mic in Los Angeles; I never shot with them,” Bell tells Brody, 44. “I didn’t even know where they shot. Where did they shoot that show?” he asks.
“Um, Montreal,” Brody, who is married to Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester, he jokingly replies.
“Okay, first I’ve heard of that,” Bell replies.
“Well, New York,” Brody continues, laughing.
“Oh, New York. Were you kidding me?” Bell says, realizing that Brody was messing with her. “You can see how involved she was,” Brody adds. Bell explains that when filming for the series, all she would do was simply get on the microphone and “give sass”.

During the interview, the two also discussed their relationship with Meester. Bell first met Meester when she was a guest at Veronica MarsBell’s 2004 mystery drama series.
“That’s where I learned and met her for the first time, and I had a lot of scenes with her,” she says. “The episode was really cool because did she or didn’t she sleep with the teacher? … She’s wonderful in it.”
“But I know her from there, but we didn’t talk about it Gossip Girl so much,” she continues.
“No, we haven’t talked about it much,” Brody adds, echoing the sentiments he shared with In style earlier this week.

Of gossip girl, Bell has starred in numerous films and series, including Frozen and Good place. But while she’s busy at work during the day, she said in a recent interview with PEOPLE that when she’s with her husband, Dax Shepard, and their two daughters, Lincoln and Delta, she always tries to be present.
“For the last few years, I’ve been practicing trying to say no, and it’s really hard, but I have to remind myself that time is the only non-renewable resource I have,” she said, noting that she’s often a “people pleaser.”
“I always want to be helpful,” Bell added. “But if I have an hour to myself, really at the pace I feel like I’m running sometimes with a career and two kids and two dogs and all that stuff, sometimes I just sit. I love Audible, so I’ll listen to a book just to sit down, just to I stop.
