Kristen Stewart Says She’s ‘Sick’ of Seeing ‘Run-of-the-Mill’ Sex Scenes: ‘That’s Just Not How People’ Do It

Kristen Stewart wants to revolutionize on-screen sex scenes.

The Twilight alum stars in new R-rated film Love bleeds“an electric new love story” directed by Rose Glass and starring Katy O’Brian.

Stewart, 33, told NBC News that she wanted to make the intimate scenes in the film fresher and more realistic.

She said: “The usual simulated sex, just go for it, is so set, and it’s like the actors have this default thing where, like, ‘Okay, we should kiss and have sex now.’ That’s just not the way people have sex, and I’m sick of watching it.”

“Really seeing the details and talking about the physical experience more than even seeing, like verbalizing, talking to each other, sharing space, without it being cut to a ton of different shots, it felt like… a really wonderful thing to deliver an experience that’s literal, and not fake,” the Oscar nominee added.

O’Brian said, “If anyone takes anything away from this movie, it’s to ask your partner what they like. You don’t see that in the movie.”

O’Brian explained to NBC News that “we obviously worked with the intimacy coordinator and everything, and we talked about scenes and comfort zones.”

“They don’t just look slowly, they linger, they touch each other with their fingers. This film was fun to make because I felt like we were all in a playground and allowed to be children as we were born, and then as adults to play,” she added. – It was a nice return to form.

Said Stewart, “People say it’s a ‘sex thriller.’ There’s not even that much sex in it. It’s so funny, because it’s more about the stories we tell each other and how we trust each other and that kind of immediate, inexplicable connection which is purely physical. It’s so gay.”

Love bleeds is in select theaters on Friday.
