Kristin Cavallari and Mark Estes' Shocking Split Forced Montana Boyz to Fast-Track Reality TV Series Schedule (Source)

The breakup of Kristin Cavallari and Mark Estes led to big changes in the lives of the Montana Boyz, the viral trio Estes is a part of.

Days after Cavallari, 37, went public with their split during Alex Cooper’s Unwell Tour performance in Austin on Sept. 27, PEOPLE has learned that filming on the newly announced Montana Boyz reality TV series has begun earlier than previously planned.

A source says that “production has picked up the cameras earlier than expected” on the series, which was announced for October 2, “given the recent events surrounding Mark.” He and Cavallari have been romantically linked since February.

Cameras started rolling on Oct. 3, a source says, and the crew is with the trio of boys — which also includes Kaleb Winterburn and Kade Wilcox — in Nashville right now.

“They will be filming over the next few weeks as they monitor recent news and upcoming events,” the source added.

A representative for Montana Boyz did not comment.

The reality series, which will be a joint project of Vice Media and Viral Nation, is set to follow the lives of Estes, 24, Winterburn and Wilcox in Nashville amid their meteoric rise to fame following Estes’ relationship with Cavallari.

In a statement, Estes’ rep told PEOPLE about the breakup, “Mark has immense love and respect for Kristin and their time together. He is focused on the future of his business and his project in development with Vice Studios.”

Sources confirmed to PEOPLE that the 13-year age difference between Estes and Cavallari ultimately accentuated the split, but there is no bad blood between them.

“There is no drama. She has love and respect for him,” said one source.

Kristin Cavallari Says Son, 10, Is Curious About Boyfriend Mark Estes’ TikToks: ‘Pretty Funny’ (Exclusive)

On the Oct. 1 episode of her podcast, Cavallari revealed that she broke up with Estes “because I just know that in the long run it’s not right, and it’s not because of lost love or anything bad that happened.”

“He was the best boyfriend I’ve ever had. I just know that in the long run he needs to experience life, he’s young… I started to feel a little older with life experience,” she said on Let’s be honest. “I look back when I was 24 years old and how much life happened between then, those are the key years, those are the formative years, you find yourself in them and he has to be able to do it.”

The relationship infamously began with Estes DMing Cavallari on Instagram, and he told PEOPLE that he “thought I was on my own” when he made the move.

“The next day we woke up and [my friend] was like, ‘Who DM’d Kristin?’ I said, ‘Oh, that was me.'”

Cavallari also helped the boys adjust to their newfound viral fame. “It was fun meeting her and getting to know her and everything about that whole world,” Winterburn, 24, told PEOPLE in March. “Cool to see.”

Winterburn also admitted that she played a big part in their joint account, which at the time had over 700,000 followers and now has more than a million.

“Everything kind of happened at the right time, but since that happened, yeah, there’s been a complete change,” Winterburn said. “I think more people are curious about what we’re doing — different age groups, all different. It’s just from her… what she did before. I think it’s nice to see all these other people who are curious about what we’re trying to do.”
