His father, Vincent “Vinne” Davis, was a member of the Gangster Disciples (GD). His father was killed in gang violence in 2016.
Nothing is known about his mother. His stepmother is named Vonya. He has a younger brother named KJ and two half-brothers named Devon Davis (KTS Von) and Vinnie, who are gang members and members of the KTS gang. KTS Von was also a rapper who died in 2015 after being shot.

His family was gang members. KTS Dre followed in his father’s footsteps as a teenager and became a gang member, which led to his younger siblings and half-siblings becoming gang members as well. KTS Dre first took over Chicago’s lakefront. The KTS in his name stood for “Kill To Survive,” which was the name of his gang. His gang was also called Kutthroat. All the gang members had KTS and Kutthroat in their names. KTS Dre and his gang roamed around Chicago’s 75th & Cottage, which was KTS’s main neighborhood.

KTS Dre has appeared in many music videos of KTS members. In 2015, he appeared in his brother KTS Von’s famous “Kill To Survive” music video.

- He was arrested for possession of a weapon (a 9mm Glock) in 2015. He was later granted parole on a gun charge.
- On April 27, 2020, KTS Dre was arrested for possession of a weapon and resisting an officer. The judge ordered Dre detained and fined him $50,000. He was subsequently placed under house arrest and wore a GPS monitoring device. In June 2021, he was arrested again for violating the bail conditions of the case. On July 10, 2020, he was released after his fiancée paid a $5,000 bond.

At 8:50 p.m. on July 10, 2020, after Dre was released from the Cook County Jail, several suspects got out of two vehicles and began shooting at him. Dre was shot 64 times in the head and other parts of his body, and 59 bullet casings were found at the scene. He was pronounced dead when he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago. Multiple reports said the reports were directed at him. A 60-year-old woman who was walking with Dre when he was attacked was shot in the knee and was taken to Stronger Hospital in good condition. Another 30-year-old woman who passed away suffered a graze on the mouth. KTS Dre was one of 40 people shot in the city that day and one of 10 victims who died from their injuries.

- KTS Dre has multiple tattoos. He has “Kill to Survive” and a target symbol tattooed on his neck, “Kutthroat” tattooed on his right index finger, and “Bitch” tattooed on his right middle finger. He also has tattoos on the back of his hands and forearms, on the right side of his face and his left eyebrow, on his chest, and on the back of his arms.
