Kyle Richards, Mauricio Umansky and Their Daughters Shared a Cozy Thanksgiving Despite ‘Awkward’ Tension on TV

Thanksgiving went off without a hitch in the Richards-Umansky household.

On Tuesday’s DIRECTV Celebrate Christmas at Kathy’s, Kyle Richards — who is currently going through a divorce from Mauricio Umansky after 27 years of marriage — talked all things Turkey Day with Extra.

“We get along, we don’t fight, so it’s actually been nice,” Richards, 54, said of her and Umansky’s Thanksgiving at the event, which was held at Kathy Hilton’s Beverly Hills home.

The The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said she and Umansky, 53, “invited our friends — a few friends — and our girlfriends were there.”

“And then the next day we were all watching TV and watching a movie together, so it’s nice to have that,” Richards said.

Of their first Thanksgiving since their split, which PEOPLE confirmed in July, Richards added, “I mean, I never expected to be in this position in a million years — you know that — and obviously it’s not ideal, but I feel proud in the way that who are going through this difficult time.”

The RHOBH The star also acknowledged the awkwardness between her and Umansky on screen and said Extra to bear the divorce “one day at a time, honestly”.

“People ask me why it was so awkward, the scenes with Mo and me when the season just started. I didn’t know how to handle it in my personal life, let alone with cameras on my face,” she explained.

“And you can see it, you feel it, it’s very uncomfortable, which, it was never uncomfortable, but I didn’t know how to do it,” she said. “I don’t have a good poker face.”

With Thanksgiving in the rearview mirror and the new year on the horizon, Richards just wants her and her family to be happy.

“I just want to get to a place where I can be at peace and be able to shut out the noise and chatter,” she said. Extra. “Right now, I’m just focusing on my kids being happy and our family continuing to be a family and happy.”

She added: “I want to go into 2024 as healthy as possible mentally and physically so I can be strong and be a good mom and a good friend and also be good to myself.”

On Thanksgiving, both RHOBH star and real estate mogul shared clips of their holiday celebration — which they spent with “15 or 16” other people, according to Umansky — on Instagram.

In the video, shot in the former couple’s kitchen at their Encino, Calif., home, Umansky, wearing an apron, smiled as Richards prepared the family’s Turkey Day buffet.

“Okay, the turkey is cut, cooked,” ex Dancing with the stars the contestant said to Richards as she lifted the lid of the serving dish. “Let me see the turkey.”

In the same clip, Umansky also showed off mashed potatoes, peas, cranberries, freshly baked cookies — and more turkey. “We are fine!” – he exclaimed.
