Olivia Munn and John Mulaney’s Son: Everything They’ve Said About Malcolm Hiệp

Olivia Munn and John Mulaney are the proud parents of a baby boy.

The couple welcomed their son, Malcolm Hiep Mulaney, on November 24, 2021. Since then, the parents have watched him achieve major milestones, like saying his first words, trying new foods, and even learning to open a door.

As the child of two celebrities, Malcolm has also experienced some pretty cool moments, from traveling to beautiful destinations like Red Rocks Park in Colorado to visiting his dad in New York on a movie set Saturday night live.

In November 2023, Munn and Mulaney celebrated Malcolm’s second birthday with a truck-themed party.

“You are the absolute joy of my life. I can’t believe I’m going to be your mom,” she said Friendly games – wrote the star on Instagram with photos from the evening.

Malcolm was named after his great uncle

Munn explained in an Instagram Story that her boy’s name has a special meaning. When Malcolm was five months old, the actress introduced him to his great uncle, Vinh Hiệp Luong, after whom Munn told him she named him.

“Malcolm met his great uncle. His middle name is named after him💛,” Munn wrote, calling her uncle her “favorite.”

Malcolm debuted on Instagram in December 2021

Munn and Mulaney introduced Malcolm to the public on Christmas Eve 2021, sharing the first photos of their baby in separate Instagram posts. Since then, Munn has documented her first days of motherhood and shared some of Malcolm’s sweetest moments.

“My Golden Ox Baby. Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney. Happy Holidays,” Munn captioned her first post about Malcolm.

Mulaney also shared a video of his son sleeping, writing, “Meet Malcolm Hiep Mulaney. He’s got his whole life ahead of him. He hasn’t even tasted seltzer yet. I’m so in love with him and his whole deal. Happy Holidays.”

Munn and Mulaney are clearly proud parents, often posting Malcolm’s big life accomplishments on social media. First words and first steps aside, Munn was particularly excited about another accomplishment: Malcolm’s restaurant debut.

“Crazy pho ti. Malcolm goes to his first restaurant,” Munn captioned an Instagram post that showed her little one sitting on her lap as she enjoyed some pho. Other pictures show Mulaney and Munn’s mother Kim as they all pose for a group picture with Malcom.

In celebration of Munna’s four-month anniversary as a new mother in March 2022, she wrote a heartfelt post dedicated to Malcolm. “It’s been 4 months since the happiest, coolest baby came into my world,” the actress captioned the post.

“He wakes up with a smile every morning without fail, he loves bath time so much he kicks his feet up and looks around whenever he hears the sound of the tub filling, his tiny hands are his favorite thing to chew on and he squeals and follows page by page whenever he we read … Happy 4th month birthday Malcolm. I love you love you love you.”

Take your child to work day seems to have no age limit! Munn shared a wonderful trip to SNL set, where she brought then-three-month-old Malcolm to visit his dad at work.

Munn posed next to a television screen showing a black-and-white image of Mulaney (who hosted the Feb. 26 show) as he kissed their son on the head. “Proud of my boys,” she wrote.

In another adorable father-son moment, the actress shared a snap of Mulaney standing in a dressing room holding the boy as they both wore formal suits. “My favorite photo,” she wrote above the picture on her Instagram Story.

Munn and Mulaney play teacher to their boy and have a lot of fun doing it. The actress noted that Malcolm loved to talk when he was four months old. In the hilarious clip posted to Munn’s Instagram, Mulaney can be seen holding her son on her lap as they read a book while teaching her son about the sounds animals make.

He pointed to a picture of a snake and made a “ssss” sound, which Malcolm copied. The couple cheered on the toddler before Mulaney pointed to the next animal. “Wait, what about this?” he asked pointing to the “pigs”.

Malcolm didn’t hesitate to let out a snort, causing Mulaney to laugh, falling back onto the couch.

Malcolm had a big party for his first birthday

Munn and Mulaney went all out for their son’s first birthday in November 2022. The highlight of the birthday party? Chocolate cake, of course!

Door the actress posted several shots of Malcolm eating pieces of cake with her little hands. The toddler — who was wearing a white shirt with gray shorts and a knitted crown with a “1” on it — quickly became a mess, with chocolate chips smeared all over his face and clothes.

She accompanied the announcement with sweet words for her one-year-old child. “I just got back from celebrating ONE YEAR of the happiest baby in this world and in our lives,” Munn said. “My son, my joy. The happiest of birthdays, Malcolm Hiep! I love you so very much.”
