Lady Gaga is back, baby.
The 38-year-old pop star served up a healthy dose of nostalgia with an OG Gaga-esque look for the premiere of her new HBO concert special, Ball Gaga Chromatica. On the red carpet on Thursday, May 23, the singer wore a white Selva ensemble with a metal cage and ear detailing that recalled the highlight of some of her wilder outfits.
Taking to Instagram, Gaga shared her thoughts on the outfit, writing, “On the red carpet I told them it was a car part. They said what kind and I said I don’t know, I’m not a mechanic.”
The star’s beauty was also reminiscent of the daring avant-garde style that launched her into superstardom in the early 2010s. Her faded eyebrows and black hair (with baby bangs) echoed her previous albums like Born this way and A monster of famewhile her colorful makeup look was a nod to her Artpop era.
Fans on Instagram were quick to call out the look’s similarities to Gaga’s memorable fashion moments from the past.

“This has so many ARTPOP vibes,” wrote one in the comments section of the singer’s post. “… I like absolutely EVERYTHING. I’m going to cry a little.”

“This look kind of has the energy of all your albums/eras,” said another. “You are CRAZY and we love you for it. MY MOTHER!”
Before heading to the premiere, Gaga shared a behind-the-scenes video of her eyebrow bleaching process. In the selfie, the singer has plastic foil over her eyebrows, which are smeared with bleaching dye. She also has bleach blonde hair, signaling that her red carpet hair look was a wig, though that’s certainly not unusual for Gaga.

“See you in 3 hours and 30 minutes,” the star wrote over the picture.
Gaga also attended a Q&A session about the project, which follows Gaga’s Chromatica Ball 2022 tour stop at Dodger Stadium in LA, where she performed hits like “Just Dance” and “Poker Face” to a sold-out crowd of 52 000 people.

The singer talked about the film while wearing a dramatic black ensemble that included a long black skirt, a structured lace jacket and an eye mask.
She attended a Q&A with her boyfriend Michael Polansky, whom she has been dating since 2020. In April 2024, the couple sparked engagement rumors when Gaga was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger while out in LA
