Lady Gaga Worked on New Harlequin Album with Fiancé Michael Polansky: See What They Did Together

Lady Gaga’s fiance Michael Polansky is her life partner — and now in the recording studio!

On Friday, September 27, the “Bad Romance” singer released her latest studio album, Harlequinwhich serves as a companion album to the upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux.

Polansky, 41, co-executive produced the album with Gaga, and the two are credited as co-writers on four songs: “Good Morning,” “Get Happy,” “On When the Saints” and “If My Friends Would could see.”

The entire album consists of covers, except for “Happy Mistake,” an original song written by Gaga, 38, and her longtime collaborator Bloodpop. Meanwhile, the songs she collaborated on with Polansky are standards and feature tunes they’ve updated sonically and lyrically.

The “Alejandro” singer announced the album earlier this week after a series of cryptic social media posts and billboards.

Gaga embodied her role as Lee (the Harley Quinn version). Folie à Deuxwhich will be released on October 4, to promote the new album.

However, she assured fans that Gaga’s original music is still on the way with a cheeky billboard dubbed Harlequin as “6.5” — and “LG7” should arrive early next year, following a new single in October.

On September 26, Gaga sat down with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 and opened up about the inspiration behind the album.

“This idea of ​​a dual identity has always been a part of my music-making. I’ve always created characters in my music and when I made Lee for Jokershe just had a profound effect on me,” she said. “I had a profound experience with the character and she just didn’t leave me creatively and I decided I wanted to make an entire album inspired by her. ”

Lady Gaga says she is ‘so excited’ to start a family with fiancé Michael Polansky in the future

Gaga added: “She’s a really complex woman and I think, especially as a woman in music and a producer, it was really fun to go, ‘This album is going to be and I’m going to be what I want to be, when I decide, whenever If I want it to be blues , there will be funk, there will be soul.'”

On the same day, the pop star and actress Polansky made her red carpet debut at the London premiere of the film.

Speaking to Buzzfeed Canada, Gaga was asked what she hopes to manifest for herself in the next 15 years.

“You know, I’m so happy to be in love and I’m so excited to have a family,” Gaga replied of Polanski, who she was first linked to in 2020. “So that’s definitely number one.”

Regarding the upcoming album “LG7”, Gaga recently said Vogue that it was Polanksy’s idea.

“Michael is the person who told me to make a new pop record,” she told the fashion magazine. “He said, ‘Honey. i love you You have to make pop music.’ ”

In the same cover, Polansky added: “As anyone would do for the person they love, I encouraged her to lean into the joy of it. On Chromatica tour, I saw fire in it; I wanted to help her live that all the time and just start making music that makes her happy.”
