Lala Kent opens up about her decision to reach out to her former co-star Rachel “Raquel” Leviss in the Season 11 premiere Vanderpump Rules.
During Tuesday Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen After the premiere, the 33-year-old reality star shared how she found empathy for Leviss, 29, following her shocking affair with Tom Sandoval that led to the end of his relationship with Ariana Madix.
Kent confirmed that Leviss did not respond to the voice note she was seen recording and sending to her in the premiere episode, adding that “the universe is really protecting me at all costs.”
“She does Bethenny [Frankel]’s podcast and I’m like, ‘And I would never have reached out to you if I had a crystal ball,'” she continued. “I thought she was going to go buy groceries in a bag at Vaughn’s or something and live a normal life. You know?”
Of her initial sympathy for Leviss, Kent said, “I wanted to say you don’t wear this forever, happily ever after. It wasn’t like, ‘Come! Be in a group of friends.’
On Tuesday’s Season 11 premiere of the hit Bravo series, Kent admitted to Lisa Vanderpump that he can now understand how Leviss began to feel “isolated” during her affair with Sandoval because she had a similar experience with ex Randall Emmett.

When Rachel Leviss realized Tom Sandoval was ‘James 2.0’ — and why Vanderpump Rules Is ‘all there is’
In October 2021, Kent and Emmett broke off their engagement after three years, with Kent later accusing Emmett of repeatedly cheating on her. In July 2022, Emmett was accused of offering a woman film roles in exchange for sexual favors in an article he published Los Angeles Timeswhich he “resolutely” denied in a statement to PEOPLE.
“I know what it’s like to have a man in front of you, who paints a beautiful picture, says, ‘You’re the one for me, you’re my soulmate,’ and you see what your future could be with that person,” she explained during the episode. “And you’re willing to risk it all so much that I ignored everyone around me who was telling me, ‘Girl, you’re a different woman.'”
Vanderpump was surprised that Kent first found sympathy for Leviss after she attacked her former co-star during the Season 10 reunion — something she said she later regretted. She said: “Out of all of them, Lala was the last person I would expect to have empathy for Raquel… so maybe if there is room for forgiveness from Lala, others will come to mind.”

After the conversation, Kent sent Leviss a voicemail of support and asked to speak with her despite her decision to no longer film with the rest of the cast amid the backlash of the affair.
Kent later told Madix that she needed to be “very honest” with her about her actions.
“The last five minutes of the thing with Raquel, she said one thing … and that was, ‘If I don’t follow what Tom told me, I’m not going to feel like I’m going to have anyone,'” she said, referring to Leviss’ confession. during the final part VPR reunion. “I thought, I don’t want him to wear this for the rest of his life.”
“I want you to know that I texted her last night,” she added, leaving the group shocked.

Madix shared that Kent’s actions were a double standard after she encouraged all of her friends to stop communicating with Emmett after their split.
“It’s a little wild if you think about it because maybe a year [or] for a year and a half, if anyone communicated with Lala’s ex, she was ready to kill him, cut off his balls, damn it. I just feel like if the shoe was on the other foot and I had reached out to Randall’s lover, I don’t think Lala would have been very happy with me.”
