Although the Grammy-nominated singer has been quite reticent about her love life, she has still managed to make headlines with her relationships. From her album Born to die She celebrated it in 2012, Del Rey is associated with many creative people, from musicians to photographers.

Barrie-James O’Neill

In 2011, Del Rey started dating Scottish singer-songwriter Barrie-James O’Neill, who was a member of the band Kassidy at the time. The couple started writing music together and were seen together on several occasions.

“When I met my boyfriend … we always said that the whole time we were writing for each other, but we didn’t know it until we met,” she told Just Jared in 2012. “So you feel like even though you didn’t know the person back then , all songs are for them now.”

In November 2012, Del Rey and O’Neill made their red carpet debut at the MTV Europe Music Awards. The couple continued dating until 2013, when Del Rey began working on her album Ultraviolence at the beginning of that year, she was accompanied by O’Neill. Del Rey explained to Radio.com that she only worked with a few people in the early stages of writing, including O’Neill and composer Daniel Heath.

In April 2013, Del Rey and O’Neill recorded a cover and accompanying music video of Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood’s “Summer Wine”. Soon after, O’Neill’s band joined Del Rey on the road, opening for the singer on her tour Paradise tour. By 2014, the couple had separated. “We are not together at the moment,” she told a German-language Swiss newspaper 20 minutes. “He’s a wonderful person. But there are some things he has to deal with. I won’t go into detail. This was hard on our relationship. I didn’t feel free anymore.”

According to New Musical Express, O’Neill said Scottish sun that he was not aware that they had broken up until his cousin pointed out to him the news of their breakup. Despite the break-up, O’Neill understood her decision, admitting that it “probably wasn’t easy” being with him as he lived with depression and insomnia.

“I saved a little, but I felt like a burden on Lana – because she had to take care of me. And I don’t like that, I like to take care of myself,” he said.

Although the couple went their separate ways, they remained on good terms. In 2021, O’Neill helped write several songs on Del Rey’s album Blue fences. He later released a song called “Riverside” that they wrote and recorded during their relationship.

In July 2014, shortly after Del Rey split from O’Neill, she was spotted in Italy with photographer Francesco Carrozzini in photos published by Just Jared. Del Rey and Carrozzini — who is the son Vogue ItalyThe late Editor-in-Chief, Franca Sozzani — was also seen sharing a PDA while watching a World Cup match that day.

Although Del Rey has not officially confirmed their relationship, the couple continued to spend time together throughout the fall. In January 2015, they were spotted going on a romantic trip to St. Barts during the holidays in the photos he received Daily Mail. The pair were later seen spending time in Malibu, California that January. In August 2015, Del Rey and Carrozzini flew to Italy to attend the wedding of Beatrice Borromeo and Pierre Casiraghi, reported Tatler.

Del Rey was first linked to rapper G-Eazy in April 2017 when they were reportedly spotted hanging out at Coachella. Then, less than a month later, the couple were photographed for the first time leaving a Hollywood nightclub together. The relationship didn’t last long, as G-Eazy was reportedly dating his “Him & I” co-star Halsey until the summer of 2017.

Although neither Del Rey nor G-Eazy have spoken out about their relationship, some fans speculate that the rapper criticized Del Rey in his 2020 song “Moana.” According to Paper magazine’s G-Eazy seemed to imply that Del Rey had tried to reconcile with him again: “I know Keisha and I know Lana / They try to bring me back but I’m like, ‘No, no, no’ / I’m sorry, I don’t want no drama, nah / That’s hard no, miss it.”

Sean Larkin

In September 2019, Del Rey was linked to a real-life police officer PD live analyst Sean “Sticks” Larkin. The couple were photographed spending time together while walking through Central Park in New York. Larkin later said the pair “hit it off from day one.”

Just months later, Del Rey confirmed their relationship, joking that she “would have worn something different” if she had known she was being photographed with Larkin in the park. Later in the interview, when asked if she was worried by the response to her dating a police officer, she said she felt Larkin was a “good cop” who was able to “see both sides of things.”

In December, Del Rey and Larkin announced their relationship on Instagram. In a video shared on Del Rey’s behalf, Larkin hugged the singer and kissed her on the head. In January 2020, the couple made their red carpet debut at the pre-Grammy gala.

For the next few months, they split their time between Los Angeles, where Del Rey lives, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he calls home. Del Rey even met his children, who Larkin admitted were “kind of ecstatic” about the relationship.

“When we were in Tulsa, we hung out with my law enforcement friends and their spouses. We all had fun together at the Super Bowl and dinners and stuff,” Larkin recalled after their split. “Normal things couples do with their friends.”

Unfortunately, their relationship did not last long – by March 2020, they were divorced. In the profile for The New York TimesLarkin confirmed the termination.

“We’re just friends right now,” he said. “We still talk and whatnot, we just have a busy schedule right now.”

Although Larkin said the pair remained friends after the split, Del Rey led fans to believe otherwise. While promoting her album Did you know there is a tunnel under Ocean Blvdwhich she announced on Larkin’s birthday in December 2022, Del Rey organized a billboard promoting the album in Larkin’s hometown.

“There is only one [billboard] and it’s in Tulsa,” she wrote on her private Instagram profile, later adding in the comments, “It is. Personally.”

Clayton Johnson

After Del Rey split from Larkin in 2020, she was linked to musician Clayton Johnson. The couple started following each other on Instagram in August 2020; sources told PEOPLE they met on a dating app.

Not long after, fans started noticing Del Rey in Johnson’s Instagram posts, including a shot of the pair wearing the same The Wizard of Oz halloween costumes. In the photo, Del Rey appeared to be wearing a diamond on her ring finger. She was seen wearing the ring again while performing Tonight’s show with Jimmy Fallon in December. Although Del Rey has not confirmed any relationship news, sources tell PEOPLE that the couple is engaged.

Later that month, Del Rey spent the holidays at Johnson’s parents’ farm in Modesto, California. Staying at a family guest house, Del Rey later called the experience “pretty idyllic,” saying that during their time there, they had a “sweet little night singing all the old Disney and holiday songs.” In February 2021, Johnson made it Instagram official by sharing a photo honoring Del Rey for his birthday.

The couple eventually went their separate ways, but it’s not clear exactly when they parted ways.

Jack Donoghue

In early 2022, rumors began to circulate that Del Rey was dating musician Jack Donoghue of the band Salem after he shared a now-deleted Instagram video of the pair racing a monster truck. In the video, Dey Rey even called Donoghue “little one”. In May, Del Rey appeared in photos taken at Donoghue’s birthday party.

While neither Del Rey nor Donoghue have confirmed their relationship, they seemingly made things official on Instagram in July 2022. Del Rey and Donoghue were photographed outside the Cook County Jail in Chicago, which he called a “family visit.” The photos have since been deleted.

Then in February 2023 a Del Rey fan account The bouquet of flowers Del Rey received around Valentine’s Day was speculated to be a gift from Donoghue, as the bouquet was spotted on both of their Instagram stories. “It’s a love-hate thing,” she wrote alongside the photo, although the singer did not specify what her Story was about.

It is not clear when Del Rey and Donoghue stopped seeing each other.

Jeremy Dufresne

Del Rey and Louisiana alligator guide Jeremy Dufrene sparked dating rumors in August 2024 when they were spotted holding hands at the Reading & Leeds Festival in the United Kingdom

The couple first met in 2019 when Del Rey went on a swamp tour with Airboat Tours by Arthur, with Dufrene as her guide. The “Summertime Sadness” singer eventually reconnected with Dufrene, who she posted about in May 2024, calling him “my guy” on Instagram.

Dufrene has three children and is ten years older than Del Rey. According to his tour guide’s biography, he previously worked in a chemical factory and as a shrimper.
