Lance Bass Says Family Trips Are ‘Kind of Last Minute’: ‘It’s Hard to Plan Anything These Days’ (Exclusive)

Lance Bass knows how hectic planning a family vacation can be.

While talking to PEOPLE about his partnership with Allegro, the musician, 44, also talks about traveling with husband Michael Turchin and their 2-year-old twins — son Alexander James and daughter Violet Betty.

“It’s hard to plan anything these days because every time I plan something, it always gets canceled. I always find some kind of work,” says Bass.

“So a lot of our last-minute trips are like, ‘Okay, let’s take a trip here,'” the *NSYNC singer adds.

Right now, Bass says he and his family are hoping to take part in some exciting travel plans in 2024.

Highlighting the upcoming trip to Utah, Bass says he’s “excited” for his kids to “see snow for the first time and put on skis for the first time.”

“I’m so excited that they’ll really, I hope, enjoy all of this, because I didn’t even know how to ski until I was 30,” she adds with a laugh. “That’s why I want to give them this gift.”

Bass says he and his offspring also enjoy trips that include their extended families. “We love going to Mississippi and Florida to visit our grandparents,” he notes.

Looking ahead, the star says he and Turchin, 37, who married in 2014, would love to take their children on adventures abroad soon.

“Eventually I plan to take them to other countries. Not now, but when they’re old enough to start remembering things, hopefully 4 or 5 years old,” Bass explains.

“I’d like to let them choose. ‘Where do you want to go this year?’ and give them an option like, “Do you want to go to England? Do you want to go to Spain? Do you want to go to Central America?” he continues.

Bass adds, “Just something different where they choose where we go on an adventure.”

Bass and Turchin welcomed their twins via surrogate in October 2021. The couple then shared the exciting news on Instagram, posting photos of the babies’ birth certificates that included stamps of their tiny footprints.

“The little dragons have arrived!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I can’t describe how much love I’m feeling right now,” Bass captioned the post. “Thank you for all the good wishes. It meant a lot to me. Now, how do you change a diaper??! Ahhhhhhhh!”

As she reflects on the final phase of her parenting journey, Bass tells PEOPLE that raising little twins is an experience like no other. “I feel like every day is a different milestone and it’s just amazing,” he says. “They’re in school now, which I think is really crazy — they’re little people now.”

“They can communicate with you. You have these conversations, and it’s so unreal to think that just two years ago, which seems like yesterday, they were just little specks on the couch and couldn’t do anything,” she adds proudly. dad.
