For Lauralee Bell, it’s never too early to ring in the new year — and wow her co-workers!
On Sunday, the soap actress (55) shared a funny behind-the-scenes video on Instagram where she was filmed joking with her co-star. Young and restless stars.
“I’m just having a little fun,” Bell says in his dressing room, keeping the noise down, before touring the set of the CBS daytime series to to scare her actors, including Eric Braeden, Joshua Marrow and Michelle Stafford, with noises while filming their reactions. Some actors are so surprised by the sound that they jump and curse.

“Never much time between scenes, but enough to have some FUN 🎉,” Bell wrote in the video. “Happy New Year!!! The #yr is so grateful to you!! We were filming our #newyearshow, why not bring a horn!! #🎉 😂 #happynewyear #2024.” The video was edited by Bella’s daughter, Samantha Martin.
Bell played the villain Christine “Cricket” Williams Young and restless in 40 years. In November, she reflected on her career milestone in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, saying the time “went by in the blink of an eye.”
Her parents, William Bell and Lee Phillip Bell, created both Young and restless and Brave and beautiful, and she said she didn’t expect to act at all. However, she appeared in the show as an extra at the age of 9, without speaking. In the end, the character Cvrčka was written for her and she hasn’t looked back since.
