Although Rhaenyra warned Daemon not to leave her again Dragon House His recent sojourn at Harrenhal in Season 2 wasn’t the last time they’d be apart. Daemon and Rhaenyra’s relationship had been turbulent from the time he seduced her as a teenager, to Daemon dissuading Rhaenyra from marrying Laenor and leaving for Pentos, to Rhaenyra and Daemon sleeping together at Laena’s funeral, to the niece/uncle eventually marrying and having two sons. However, the biggest test of their marriage came when Daemon left Rhaenyra and ignored her to consider usurping Harrenhal.
Daemon had trouble accepting Rhaenyra’s authority as the rightful queen, so he fled to Harrenhal and gathered his army in the Riverlands – possibly for himself. However, Daemon had dreams of Daenerys Targaryen, the Night King, his own death, and Rhaenyra on the Iron Throne, which forced him to abandon his personal ambitions and devote himself to her cause. Dragon HouseIn the Season 2 finale, she warns him in High Valyrian, “Abandon me again at your own risk“While he jokingly admitted that he had tried and couldn’t do it, that wasn’t entirely accurate.
Technically, Daemon left Rhaenyra again in A Dance with the Dragons.
The Future of the House of the Dragon: Daemon Returns to the Riverlands, Without Rhaenyra
As George R.R. Martin Blood and Fire The books reveal that Daemon did leave Rhaenyra again during the Targaryen Civil War. While Daemon would join Calathes when Rhaenyra took King’s Landing, their reunion would be very brief when she sat on the Iron Throne. Once Rhaenyra officially claimed her birthright, Daemon set out from Calathes to the Riverlands, where he intended to seek out Aemond Targaryen and Vhagar and eliminate the threat they posed to Rhaenyra’s rule.

In the books, Daemon takes Nettles and the Sheep Thief to find Aemond, though it’s unclear if this will happen, as Dragon House It seems that Nettles’ story was cut out and Rhaena’s story was substituted for hers. However, his time with Nettles in the Riverlands was crucial to the couple’s marital problems, as Rhaenyra was very paranoid about Daemon and Nettles’ relationship and their possible betrayal. Just as Rhaenyra could not trust Daemon at Harrenhal in 1827 Dragon House His journey back to the Riverlands in season two puts further strain on their relationship.
Daemon will most likely return to the Riverlands early in the year to look for Aemond.

In season three, this means that he broke his promise to Rhaenyra and left her shortly after making it.
Daemon and Rhaenyra can’t have a happy ending in House of the Dragon

Whether or not Daemon was actually having an affair, or whether he considered betraying Rhaenyra when he left her again for the Riverlands, the couple’s Dragon HouseWhen Hugh and Ulf betrayed Rhaenyra to Aegon, Rhaenyra began to doubt all “dragonborn”, and Daemon began to turn his attention to his long-awaited duel with Aemond. When Daemon and Aemond finally came face to face, they were both killed in the Battle of the God’s Eye outside Harrenhal.

Finally, in the House of the Dragon season 2 finale, Prince Daemon Targaryen officially changed his mind about Rhaenyra taking the Iron Throne.
