It’s not every day that someone meets their celebrity crush — but this week, Leslie Jones’ dream came true!
The Saturday night live alum greeted NBC News and MSNBC national political correspondent Steve Kornacki — with whom she has a huge crush — Daily show while the away game is on Tuesday.
Jones, 56, beamed at the chance to meet Kornacki, 44, and told him: “Oh my God, OK, well, hi! Oh my God, it’s so crazy that we’ve never met before. Well, I” quite I’m sure you know I’m totally obsessed with you.”
Kornacki smiled as he said, “I saw some clips!”

From there, a clip of Jones’ declaration of love for Kornacki was shown during an appearance on NBC News, where she called him “the sexiest nerd on TV.”
“When he would grab the thing and say, ‘No,’ and then mark on the board, I’d say, ‘Oh, God, just keep solving problems, Mr. Kornacki,'” she said as the next shot showed a reporter’s mark on the board. “God, that’s so sexy. What, is it seven? Is it seven, Steve?”
After the montage, where she also raved about Kornacki The Kelly Clarkson ShowJones jokingly noted how “uncomfortable” she was – but then admitted, “but not really.”

Jones continued to ask Kornacki questions about his work and was impressed by his “sophisticated” answers and political acumen. Later, when asked to explain the Electoral College process, Jones said, “I don’t want to sound stupid in front of you, my love.”
At one point, Jones got Kornacki a “little gift” — a small calculator she customized with his name on the back. “If you use my calculator, I’ll lose it,” she admitted.
Before leaving, Jones said he didn’t know anything about Taylor Swift before asking if he knew about Beyoncé. To that he answered strongly: “Yes!”
“OK, good. Whoa!” she said. “I had to divorce you, Steve. You’re awesome!”

Named PEOPLE one of the Sexiest Men Alive in 2020, Kornacki previously came out as gay in a column for Salon.
“This isn’t the start of a brand new life. I actually really like the one I already have,” he wrote of his sexuality in 2011. “But now the fear and paranoia are gone. And my life can finally make sense to the people who matter to me .”
