Leverage: Redemption star Gina Bellman revealed that she underwent cancer treatment last summer, sharing how she was inspired by Kate Middleton’s announcement of her own cancer diagnosis.

“Catherine, Princess of Wales, showed such poise and grace in her heartbreaking announcement today. Hoping that her treatment will be successful and for a better world,” the actress, 57, shared in a post on Xthe platform formerly known as Twitter.

She continued in another post, writing, “I underwent breast cancer treatment myself last summer. Until now – I didn’t have the courage to go public. After 8 months, I’m back in heels and shooting 14-hour days.”

Bellman means revival Leverwhich originally ran for five seasons on TNT before ending in 2012. Redemption first appeared on Freevee, but its upcoming third season will air on Prime Video.

Bellman ended her update on a positive note, acknowledging all of her followers who may be going through the same medical journey. “For those currently in treatment – there is light at the end of this tunnel ❤️‍🩹,” she wrote.

Fans of the actress were quick to share messages of support, prompting Bellman to post on Sunday: “Thank you all for the ❤️I think Lever the world is a little cocoon of goodness xx.”

On Friday, Princess Kate (42) announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy. The news comes after weeks of speculation about the health and whereabouts of the royal family, who have been absent from public life following planned abdominal surgery in January.

Kate Middleton ‘wrote every word herself’ in the speech revealing her cancer diagnosis, a source says

In her video, the princess shared that the cancer was discovered after surgery.

“At the time, my condition was thought to be non-cancerous,” Princess Kate said. “The operation was successful. However, tests after the operation revealed the presence of cancer. My medical team therefore advised me to undergo preventive chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

“I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirit,” the royals said, ending their video with a note to “deal with this disease.” She added: “Please don’t lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”
