Levi Wright's Mom Posts Heartfelt 'Parenting Advice' 1 Month After His Accident, Thanks Him for 'Teaching Me So Much'

Kallie Wright shares her thoughts with fellow parents a month after her son Levi Wright was injured in a fatal crash.

Levi, the 3-year-old son of Kallie and rodeo star Spencer Wright, died on June 2 after being taken off life support. He had been hospitalized in critical condition weeks earlier, on May 21, after driving his toy tractor into a river in Utah.

Kallie — who is also mom to daughters Steeley and Brae Milo — began her message, which she shared in a Facebook post on June 21, “One month ago, one month ago our lives changed forever!”

She wrote that she had “a lot more to say” but, at least for now, she wanted to share some “parenting tips/thoughts from someone who’s really thought about this stuff lately!”

For her first message to others, she wrote: “Don’t just take your kids to do fun things, do those fun things WITH them! Get in the pool, climb the swing, go down the slide, run through the sprinklers, sled down the hill, etc. You get the idea!”

“Think back to when you were a kid,” she continued. “What do you remember more, your materialistic gifts or your memories and experiences? This is one thing that I feel we did really well with our kids and I’m more proud of that now more than ever.”

Kallie’s second piece of advice was to take professional family photos more often. “Kids grow up too fast and things are always changing,” she wrote. “I wanted to wait until the baby lost this and that, and now the only really good pictures I have are from Brae’s newborn session and his dad couldn’t be there. I wish I had done something this spring.”

She then said, “Everything, and I mean everything, can be fixed and replaced, so don’t make mountains out of molehills,” she wrote.

“I have a pillow on the couch with little slits from when Levi took the scissors, little Easter bunny stamps on my wall in the playroom,” she continued. “I realize now that I definitely overreacted and I could have talked to him about it without being angry and frustrated.”

“Seriously, kids are going to do things like that and it doesn’t matter,” she added. “Yes, they need to learn, but we shouldn’t let it bother us so much or make it a bigger deal than it is because in the grand scheme of things, it’s not a big deal.”

And finally, Kallie shared something she “used to hate” — until she realized “how true it was.” “Laundry, dishes, cleaning the house, it can all wait,” she wrote. “Find the balance!”

“I’m still working on this,” she added before ending her post with a sweet message for her late child.

“Thank you for being my adventure friend Levi and for teaching me so much!” she wrote. “I miss you and I love you!”

Speaking days after Levi’s death on June 6, Kallie shared a post reflecting on the day he suffered critical injuries while driving his toy tractor – which was “what he loved most”, according to his obituary.

“He asked me to drive his tractor, and I explained to him that grandma was not at home, that she should not drive through the stream or the road and only drive around the house. While he was leaving, I returned to the house.” wrote the mother of three children. “It’s a decision that will follow me for the rest of my life.”

Kallie also wrote that she will “lose sleep over this forever,” but added that she knows “3 things are true.”

“1. I’m not a perfect mom, but I’m a good mom,” she said. “2. My little son loved me with everything he had. 3. Never say never because it only lasts a few seconds and it can happen to you.”

“I pray that no one who judges me or has abusive words will ever find themselves at the receiving end of this nightmare,” she added.
