Likely Cause of Death Revealed for 4 Teenage Boys Found Dead in ‘Nightmare’ Camping Trip Accident

The probable cause of death of four teenagers who were found dead in their car during a camping accident in the UK has been revealed.

At the inquest into the deaths of the high school students on Wednesday, the coroner said the provisional cause of death was drowning, reports the BBC.

Police in Wales previously said the bodies of Wilf Fitchett, Jevon Hirst, Harvey Owen and Hugo Morris, who were aged between 16 and 18, were recovered from the vehicle which appeared to have left the road in a statement posted on Facebook.

The car was found upside down and partially submerged in water on Tuesday, November 21.

Per Guard, Kate Robertson, Senior Coroner for North West Wales, told the inquest: “Four young men were traveling in a vehicle along the A4085 near Llanfrothen when the vehicle veered off the road. Circumstances that resulted in the death of all four occupants.”

“Autopsies have been performed and provisional causes of death have been provided, the investigation is ongoing.”

Robertson added that the police investigation was “ongoing”, according to the BBC. “Only when it is completed will there be a full investigation,” she said at the inquest, which was not attended by any of the families of the teenagers who reported the premises. “At this point, speculation is unhelpful and sympathy will achieve more than media curiosity.”

“I just wanted to say that I appreciate people’s kindness, but no amount of messages will help me get through this. Nothing will solve this nightmare,” she added.

Wilf Fitchett’s girlfriend Maddi Corfield also paid tribute to her boyfriend’s life on social media. “I will miss you forever,” she wrote on Instagram, according to the BBC and Sky News, calling him “the sweetest and kindest boy I’ve ever met.”
