Lili Reinhart revealed that she developed an eating disorder while playing Betty Cooper on Riverdale.
In a new interview for Magazine – Posted January 22 – The actress, who has been open about her battles with body dysmorphia in the past, explained that her disordered eating began while filming season six of the CW series.
The 28-year-old admitted that she often fought on the set because of this.
“I really don’t like looking at pictures or pictures of season six, because I know 99% of my thoughts were about my body,” she told the outlet. “I was a thousand percent just dissociated through that whole day or scene because my whole internal dialogue is just …” Your body changes. ”

Reinhart has previously discussed related health struggles, including her experiences with body dysmorphia and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). In a post on social media in September 2023, she expressed her frustration with what she sees as a celebration of extreme thinness.
“I wish there were more average guns for women in mainstream media for women,” the actress wrote X, formerly known as Twitter. “My body dysmorphia gone crazy because I feel like my arms should be half their size? We’ve glamorized these skinny arms that for most of us can only be achieved if you’re a literal adolescent.”
AND Busy The actress added: “I really wonder how anyone survives or gets through this life without having severe BD. Maybe it’s a cruel heightened version combined with my OCD, but damn. The amount of time I’ve been spending lately thinking about my with your hands. A few months is crazy.”

Reinhart further emphasized that she “wanted to get my thoughts out there to let other women know they are not alone.”

While she admitted that her journey towards self-love is a work in progress, she made sure to express her gratitude on social media for all that her body has achieved.
“My body carried me through 25 years of life,” Reinhart wrote on X at the time. “All my scars, tears, trauma … I wish I could love it more, even when it doesn’t look like I was 20 years old. But I try. I know that my body deserves equal love and admiration at any size. ”
