Lisa Ann Walter says her most important role is being a mother to her four children: Jordan, Delia, Spencer and Simon.

The Abbott Elementary School the star was married to her first husband, Sam Baum, from 1986 to 1999. The couple had two children during their marriage: a son, Jordan, and a daughter, Delia. Lisa Ann later gave birth to her youngest children, twin sons Spencer and Simon, with her second husband, whose name is not known.

At the beginning of her acting career, Lisa Ann and Sam moved to New York, and she became pregnant with Jordan, according to Morning call.

In the March 2023 episode of the series The Late Late Show with James Corden, the actress joked: “I almost immediately had children when I went to New York to be an actress. Instead, I got knocked out and that’s when I started doing stand-up.”

Lisa Ann took a two-year hiatus from her career to care for her oldest child until Sam saw that she was bored and encouraged him to return to stand-up.

“I definitely know what it’s like to be a working mother – I was doing standup comedy for three days before Delia was born,” she told the news outlet. “And I nursed her between the two shows every night.”

Lisa Ann and Sam had their first child, son Jordan, on September 11, 1987.

Jordan, who uses he/they pronouns, followed in his mother’s footsteps and pursued a career in art. The actress told Distractify in July 2023, that her son is a professional musician, producer and writer.

“He’s lucky enough to be doing work he loves — creative work he loves — and getting paid for it,” she said. “So, as someone who is the same, I know how lucky he is and I’m very proud of him because it’s not an easy life. But he’s made a living so far.”

Lisa Ann added: “He lives in a decent apartment in LA, a very expensive city, and he hasn’t moved home yet. So, as far as I’m concerned, that’s success!”

Jordan has supported his mom on several occasions, including attending the 16th pre-Emmy night in September 2022, which coincided with his birthday.

Lisa Ann took to her Instagram to share several snaps of the mother-son duo from the night, writing in the caption “The night before. With my grown son for his birthday.”

In March 2024, Jordan also accompanied his mom during her set at The Mermaid Comedy Hour in Los Angeles. Jordan appeared on stage and joined Lisa Ann with a guitar as she performed her stand-up set on the main stage at the Hollywood Improv.

Delia Baum, 32

Over the years, the actress has shared insight into her career, saying Our children magazine in March 2023, “One of my children is a therapist for children on the spectrum and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. program on the East Coast.”

Lisa Ann described Delia as an “easy learner” who was always “self-motivated” in an interview with Distractify.

She explained: “I never had to lash out at her for doing her homework; she just did it herself. She was the one who organized all your supplies.”

Although Delia lives a relatively private life, she was featured on her mom’s Instagram when she filmed their family vacations.

For Mother’s Day in May 2021, Lisa Ann took some photos from a day at the beach with her four children, including her only daughter. The family of five, plus Sam, also enjoyed a trip to Italy in June 2023, including Venice and Florence.

Her youngest children have a surprising connection with one of her most significant roles — Chessy from A trap for parents.

Lisa Ann opened up to Jinkx Monsoon in the episode Hi Jinks! podcast about coincidence, telling the host that she gave birth to her twins on the same day Lindsay Lohan’s twin characters Hallie and Annie were due.

The actress then called Nancy Meyers, who directed the film, to ask, “What hexagon did you put on me?”

When she appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden in March 2023 Lisa Ann opened up about her sons’ reactions to her stand-up comedy.

“One of them saw something I did with them and was actually quite proud, I think,” she explained. “But I said, ‘You know I’m totally cheating on you? You don’t talk to me. Whenever you do that, it’s to criticize something about me.’ ”

“I get a lecture on performance economics, I’m not allowed to return food in a restaurant. Suddenly I’m Karen,” she added. “But in the meantime, they keep coming home because I have free food and WiFi so they keep showing up.”

Simon Walter, 23

Simon, who uses he/they pronouns, was born on October 11, 2000, along with his twin brother Spencer.

When you talk about Abbott Elementary School and her character Melissa Schemmenti, Lisa Ann described her sons as “really full of energy” in an October 2022 interview. Diversity.

Although Spencer and Simon are identical twins and share the same vivaciousness, Lisa Ann told Distractify in July 2023 that her sons are “complete opposites.” Despite being “really, really different,” Lisa Ann said her sons were often mistaken for one another.

“One is right-handed, one is left-handed,” she explained. “One is all [about] music and creativity, and he is more emo, and the other is much more open and deals with IT work. But they look exactly the same.”

The actress added: “It was fun watching them all their lives [grow] since they are different. Let’s hope they had teachers who didn’t assume they were the same.”

Although Simon isn’t very active on Instagram, he has shared a glimpse into his journey as a musician, including sharing a photo of his acceptance letter from the California Institute of the Arts. He also posted a few pictures from a performance with his band at a show in November 2019, as well as a snippet of a song he was working on back in March 2020.
